Restaurant Zauberberg - Munich

Restaurant Zauberberg - Hedwigstr. 14, 80636 Munich, Germany

Neuhausen, right by the Schloss. smoke-free atmosphere. I haven't been there yet, but I'll try it sometime. They do lunch too. Looks like it's a tablecloths and china place, with prix-fixe menus.

A magic mountain it is.....like something out of a fairy tale as the food AND service are outstanding. Added bonus is the no smoking policy. Very popular for business dinners but also cozy enough for a romantic evening for 2.

Took my gf there for Valentine's day. Just wonderful. Reservations are a good idea. We started off with Proseco with peach. First course, a wonderful zucchini soup, next, salad with quail; third, seafood scampi; a basil sorbet palette cleanser; then veal with schallots; dessert was mohn (poppy) mousse and rhubarb with vanilla eis. It seems the name is related to Harry Potter.

I don't see a HP connection here?

Thomas Mann is a more likely connection. I bet someone was pulling Anthony's leg.

Look at the name of the street.

Firstly, the menu is a 'surprise' you just pick how many courses you want. We went for the 3-course menu with wine (€58); it was one of the best meals we've ever had (better than a former world's top-50 restaurant we've eaten at). Situated a little off the beaten track, Zauberberg is a lovely place to dine in quiet, comfortable surroundings; there's some nice art on the walls too. Would definitely recommend.

Went here for lunch this past Tuesday. Great atmosphere. Light and bright, low key. Beautiful artwork and tables. Felt good right when we walked in. Had the lunch menu (10euros- a good value)-The salad was great and the dressing- fresh, fantastic. My husband had the soup- also excellent. Main course of tortellini was OK- nothing special. Coffee came with a delicious, small cookie. If in the neighborhood I'd probably return but wouldn't order the "lunch menu" again. I'd pay a little more and order an appetizer and entree separately. I got the feeling that they care about food quality here.
