I have been there a few times and the meal was excellent each time. They actually cook the meat with the spices and in the sauce, which seems to be a rarity in Munich. Don't expect the meal to arrive in a hurry, though. You can ask for it "English hot" if you are English and you will get a much spicier and hotter sauce. The beer is Schweiger beer which is very good and only 2.50 Euros a half litre bottle. The place is very popular so it is wise to book in advance. The place is roughly on the other side of the road to the huge Mercedes tower/showroom and the closest train stop is Donnersbergerbrücke which is two stops away from the Hauptbahnhof on the S-bahn.

I had a nice Balti Chicken there the other night. Nice sized portions, friendly staff and good beer. The service was a bit slow, but then there was 17 meals ordered at the same time. It is somewhere I'd visit again !

Rama is not the word for God. Rama was one of Vishnu's many Avatars. Vishnu also came as Krishna, Jesus, and the Buddha. Those crafty Hindue want to swallow all other relgions. However the food in Rama is excellent. I was disapointed last Wednesday that my Spinach balls in Chili were not spicy at all, but still very tasty. Unfortunately a lot of Munich curry houses, just pile in a few chilis if you ask for it hot, and don't seem to realise a proper Indian cook uses about 30 spices.

The Rama has a web site. Note there are two Ramas, one in Arnulfstr. and one in Ismaning. The one in Ismaning is much better for the curries but you will need to reserve a place. http://www.restaurant-rama.de/

We used to live in Ismaning (10 years ago) and this was a regular haunt (being English, Sorry...). One of the great things about it then was that it sold Italian, too, so our 2 year old daughter could eat a small Pizza whilst we had a curry. We've been back twice since we left, once about 5 years ago and again about 2 - Both times the food was as good as it had been in our time there and there's nothing quite like a Jalfrezi with a Weissbier! Forza Rama!

My boyfriend and I ordered take-out from Rama-Arnulfstr. We were very pleased with the food was full of aroma and flavor. I ate the best Chicken Tikka Masala I've had since the time when my friend Jaspreet's mom cooked dinner for her husband's boss.

I'm new in Munich, but I went to Rama based on the internet reviews. The food is excellent and the service. Portions are good. Highly recommended

We had a "Neuhausen Night Out" in the Rama in Arnulfstrasse. It was a popular regular place for a lot of locals. But NEVER again! We all meticulously kept notes of what we had to eat and drink so there could be no quibble about the bill. And they STILL tried to add on extra beers to the bill. When we pointed out that we had kept notes the manager said he "always has trouble with You people" but sheepishly ran off when he realised he had been rumbled.

Ate at the Ismaning resteraunt last week. I've had good nights there before, but this time the food (mine at least) was pretty lousy. I asked for a peshwari naan and was given first a keema, which was sent back, then some rather odd Almond encrusted object that was almost too sweet to eat. I was also charged 5E for the pleasure. The Palak Ghosht was completely lacking in spice and really just creamy spinach. Very poor, and I'm not inclined to give them the chance to change my opinion.

Try Namaskar in Ismaning - newly opened and not at all bad.

Used to frequent this place a lot a few years ago, and was dissapointed to see all the negative reviews. Went there on Saturday evening because we were driving back from Westbad and there was parking. Absolutely wonderful food. Top onion bhajis, my spinach & zuchhini brought tears to my eyes, girlfriend enjoyed her thali, service was friendly and prompt.

We are talking RAMA restaurants, food is ok but I want to tell you about the owner of the RAMA restaurants. His name is Mohinder Pal Singh{Paul}& he is a bad chef{I have no word him}. He always take the cooks from India and promise to pay them 1000 Euros {as per contract for 4 years}every month but, but he pays only 500 Euros,{but he pays the salary one time in a year but pocket money 100 Euros every month} time only 50% & rest in his pocket. As per law in Germany he should give his workers 2 days a week free but everybody has to work 7 days in a week & 15 hours a day. Workers have pressure in work to do better but they can’t because they are not a machine. Many cooks can’t speak English and German languages& the waiters are not allowed to speak with guest, only they take order and finish. For me he {M.P.Singh} is just a criminal from 27 years or more. I have many more incidences to tell you but not now. Please help the poor people working for him, we are in 2008 year. What I have tell you is true.

That sounds really horrible. Maybe you should report this to the German authorities. It sounds like this guy needs to be investigated. Have never tried the food there... but for sure will not after reading the above.

Creative menu with a lot of dishes that I've never seen before. My chicken dish had full flavor and was spiced perfectly. The staff were friendly. I will definitely go back.
