If you liked Hit the Sky, you will like Pearls. If you didn't, don't bother. It is a look-a-like and a lot smaller.
It is the type of trendy place that is very popular and frequented by all different types of stunningly fashionable people, mainly young, wearing flashy clothes, looking very blasé. It will probably be in fashion for a while then fade away when something more trendy opens.
I asked for a Caipirinha (I went there before I officially decided to quit). The bartender served me a huge pint glass, kind of a jar thing. I could not finish it. That's when I decided it was time to quit Caipis. Pearls has been open since about June 2000, there is a DJ and the music is housey-funk. The "bouncer" is a charming young girl who borrowed the body of Jennifer Lopez and did not give it back. If she is really the bouncer, I would love to be thrown out of this place.
