What was earlier 'Jasmine Garden' specializing in Thai Food, is now the brand new Payal serving choicest Indian cuisine in Erding. Open just over a month back this restaurant is owned by the same people who run the the Indian Grocery shop "Hat Bazar' in Stachus. That is an advantage for this restaurant, as their supply chain of original Indian raw material is never in shortage.
We were a group three families who decided to try this new restaurant yesterday on an outing from Munich, and boy, we were so pleased. They have a large beer garden to serve 150 guests in addition to the 95 people sitting capacity inside. We were eight adults with two newborns and two small kids, and never did we feel cramped for space. The space is well decorated with brand new stuff and one of the owners was always too eager to oversee arrangements for us. The fact that we reached well after 2PM and continued well beyond their opening hours in the afternoon, never seemed to be a bother.
The famous Erdinger Weissbier goes quite well chicken pakoras as starters, and for non alchoholics, trying out the mango lassi is the safest bet. We ordered three dishes of chicken butter masala, three dishes of chicken tikka jalfrezi which had equal share of rice and nan on special request. Try out the grilled prawns as a side dish, you will relish taste difference with the local variety.
The best part was the GAVI 2007 Halbtrocken Weisswein, that goes so well with the Indian spices.
Overall, 200 Euros for eight people with all the starters, cokes, lassis, wein, main dish and desserts makes it quite decently priced.
Add to that, some babysitting care by the guys while you eat, you get a real compelling package.
Today Erding as one more reason to visit other than Europe's largest spa.

Went there last night, did the Chicken Tikka Masala test, requesting "English medium", and that's what I got. I prefer the sauce a little thinner, but it was very tasty. The restaurant itself was very quiet, almost no other diners, and we got friendly, but not overbearing service.
