Pardi - Volkartstrasse 24, 80634 Munich, Germany
If you think Turkish food equals nothing more than kebabs then please do go to this Neuhausen restaurant. Situated in a quiet street near Rotkreuzplatz, this stylish Turkish eatery has been open for about five years.
The ochre coloured dècor gives a very warm atmosphere. The food is very tasty and for me, an idiot who believed the humble kebab was the best dish coming out of Turkey, it was a pleasant surprise. In the summer, the Terrasse is always crowded. Same applies for inside in the winter so book in advance.
The service is impeccable and super-friendly. The guy who runs the restaurant goes to every table for a quick chat. Not intrusive, just to make you feel at home. I thought Neuhausen was boring compared to Schwabing, but I am starting to revise my judgement. This part of town hides some great little insider jewels like Pardi.

I live very close to Pardi and have been in there the grand total of once. Why? Because Pardi has a hard-core of middle-aged schickimicki regulars for whom normal punters will be booted off a table and generally ignored. This is common knowledge in the area so most of Pardi's customers do not actually live in the streets close to the restaurant. The food is very good and the guy that owns the place is more than pleasant but he won't be getting my money ever again (and he knows this). One of the very few places in Munich where I did not leave a tip - a real shame really.

Posted by: "ali" at 12:09 am on 7.Mar.2009My Turkish wife, another couple, and I went to this restaurant because we read in Munich Found they had Turkish breakfast. We had pretty high expectations. The atmosphere is great. Their breakfast menu suggests it is a real Turkish breakfasts, however that turned out not to be the case. The breakfast was good, but it was more of a Germanized version of Turkish breakfast. They didn't have any Scharfskase (i.e. Beyaz Peynir) and if you know Turkish breakfast, this is practically a crime. I would put the breakfast as a good German/Mediterranean breakfast, but not authentic Turkish. The waiters weren't Turkish, nor the cook, the owner/manager was there and he is Turkish. So overall we were a bit disappointed. However, the dinner menu looked appetizing, so we plan to go back there for a dinner sometime in the future
Posted by: Kodiak at 8:45 am on 7.Mar.2009A friend recommended this place and as I've never been to a Turkish restaurant before, decided why not. I have no idea if it is authentic Turkish or not, but I liked it. The waiters were very friendly (thank God!!!!) and the food was good. Although I had high expectations of their chocolate souffle, It didn't quite hit the spot. Maybe dessert isn't their thing. But anyways, a nice, cozy, warm place. Will definitely go back.
