Osteria Veneta - Munich

Osteria Veneta - Utzschneiderstr. 4, 80469 Munich, Germany

I went with my boyfriend about two weeks ago and believe, will never go back. It took a good while to have our order taken, to get the first dish about an hour, and then about 40 minutes later the main meal. In total we spent about 2-2.5 hours there, waiting for our food and at the end we were starving and did not enjoy it.

The food is nothing to die for and the service is very lousy since it is a couple running the restaurant: The husband is the Chef and the wife is the everything else! Waiter, barman, menu (so to speak because they don´t have one, she calls herself the menu), etc.; and a girl helping in the kitchen, that´s all. I think they try to save costs but in a very silly way because they leave the client completely unsatisfied. The lady (the wife) was not very nice, I guess because she was running all the time and could not attend every client in a proper way. I only saw her smiling when she brought the bill!

Really a bad experience and I do not recomend anyone trying it, there are other restaurants which are far much better and for a more reasonable price, because what we paid I would rather pay at Käffer than here, for a much better service and food and for about the same price!

I enjoy Marisa & Lionello's a lot. It's not a place you rush in and out. It's not meant to be. Having dinner there is evening filling. Not having a menu but citing the day's specials is normal in italy and Marisa's just doing it the italian way. Sure, Lionello is alone in the kitchen, but for me it was always a pleasure to eat what he prepared. And I was even showered with rose petals when I had a romantic dinner at the Osteria. I'm sure it's not easy every day to keep up with the pace. And it's not for saving costs (actually, there's not much money to be made in gastronomy, it's the beverages that bring the cash). So I'm sorry for your experience. I myself was always satisfied (and I am definitely picky about food). For me the Osteria Veneta is a good and most charming places to go in MUC.

Let me tell you: I agree with you that Osteria Veneta is a good and most charming places to go in MUC, until I went there some days ago with my wife! Bad experience...

all i can say is, despite it's great location and my friends raving about it, the food was well below par, really nothing special. The service was rude and incopetent - and I've lived in NYC!

Mmmmmmm: I think a good restaurant is no place to rush, is meant to enjoy. But I guess the owners only make their friends enjoy their meals otherwise they are rude and not very friendly. And it takes forever to have your meal. I recomend you to spend your money in other place that will really leave you satisfied.
