Nomiya - Munich

If your a Sushi lover, then give this place a wide birth. If you just want a beer and a couple of rolls, then this is a perfect place for you.

Nomiya appears to be a cross between a bar and a little sushi restaurant. They do plenty of sushi rolls and different types of yakitori ( Meat fish & veggie). But No sashimi, nigiri or anything like that.

I had a set menu for €17, What did I get for that.

Luke warm Miso soup
Some smoked salmon strips with onions
Plate of mixed rolls : Salmon(6rolls) , Cucumber(3) / Curried rice(3)(I think it was rice...couldn't taste anything !)

To be honest, it sucked and is not value for money in any way shape or form. Salmon in the Rolls was cooked flakes of Salmon. The soy sauce was cheap and watery. Plus the fruit flies buzzing around didn't help in creating a pleasant dining experience.

Given the name of the place, I'm not surprised that it's more of a bar than a restaurant. "Nomiya" means "drink shop" or something like that.

I disagree... as someone who's lived in Japan and being an obsessive cook and eater of Japanese food, I found this 'izakaya' style restaurant to be very charming and the food very tasty. Check my review by googling stomachsonlegs + nomiya.

Nomiya is more like a Yakitori bar, I am not sure about Sushi there, but certainly Yakitori or Kushi cuisine are great! they also serve nice cold beer in Stein bierkrueg.
