According to newly introduced regulations doorstaff for all Munich nightclubs must soon pass an official exam before becoming legally qualified to work a door. The exam will involve both verbal and written tests which cover questions such as the rights of guests and bouncers, the legality of body searches, when may pepperspray be used, how to handle disruptive guests and how to calm disputes, drugs, weapons, etc. Apparently the exam is quite difficult and in recent tests the pass rate has been only 50%. Even then many candidates only passed on the second or third attempt.
The new rule will be enforced by the Munich Chamber of Commerce and Industry (the IHK) and will come into effect from the Summer of 2005. It will apply not only to doorstaff but also to shop detectives, public transport ticket inspectors, and various other types of security guard. The thing is, what does this mean for us, the punters? Well, it means that if in the future you're refused entry to a Munich club then the refusal should at least be polite. But do we really care? Does it make any difference if our evening plans are ruined by a polite doorman or an ignorant and offensive one? Surely not? All we wanna do is get into the club, one way or another. And do we really need yet more regulations added to the legislative nightmare that is Germany? Oh well, this is Toytown afterall. So what you think? Is this new regulation a good thing or completely pointless? And which Munich nightclubs are in most dire need of some regulation, i.e. where has the worst doorstaff? |

Nachtgalerie. Bastards. Milchbar. Weird. The guard from the mathra temple was funny. The guy is like a mountain of muscle, bodybuilded to death, but I saw his face exploded by a small 60kg man, the guard hat to retrench behind the door and to call the security of kultfabrik, you know, this team of psychos in green jackets, who look like (and I'm afraid also are) shining neonazis skinheads.
Welcome to the night world |

The doorstaff in Liverpool are not that bad but they will look at you if you are a piece a shit. They should be people who go around in a van and check the doorstaff to see if they have a licence to prove they are doorstaff, people who come to liverpool are upset because when they go out the doorstaff will be horrible and nasty to them. Some of the doorstaff in liverpool are not like thta but we do get some dickheads of doorstaff here and i'm sure it happens somewhere else in the UK. If i was a night club owner i asked my doorstaff where 's your badge and they told me havent got one i would say ok go home and pay 190 for one and get training for it as well. Doorstaff think they can do anything because they carry a badge but all doorstaff sorry you can't, treat you like dirt when you turn up at a night club and look you up and down at you as well. I am applying for a licence but i need to know where i can get training for it can anyone help us?.
