Nero - Rumfordstr. 34, 80469 Munich, Germany

Large Italian pizza restaurant in the Glockenbachviertel. Very popular.

Incidently, until 2004 the premises were home to another bar/restaurant called Rincon.

Love this place! Great pizza and great service. The open atmosphere keeps the smoke from taking over. One pizza is good for one hungry person or two not-so-hungry people and costs around 9-10 Euro.

If I wanted to sit on a sofa and eat pizza on a coffee table, I could do that at home for half the price. Reserved a table to eat here and when we showed up with our group they stuck us all on a couch with a tiny coffee table which was to supposedly hold 8 people's pizza's. This was appauling, if they didnt have tables left then dont make reservations. Meanwhile there was pelnty of tables empty but staff would not let us sit at them as they were reserved for parties which never showed up. The only thing that saved this place was the pizza was fantastic. But not good enough to sit like this again and eat.

Made a last minute reservation for a Saturday night at 9:30 and while it was packed, had no problems being seated right away. The pizza here is truly fantastic- thin and crisp and light. The radicchio and truffel creme pizza is my favorite. The salad with the sundried tomatoes and fresh buffalo mozz is also excellent, ask for it with the strangely delicious potato salad dressing, made with potato flour, oil and vinegar and mustard. The entrecote was also great, and was served with potatoes and amazing grilled radicchio- salty, not bitter, drizzled with aromatic olive oil. The server said the key to the wonderfulness was the special oven they have there. Can be quite noisy as it is often packed and the high ceilings bounce the sound around, but absolutely a favorite. Also perfect for a post-Museum Lichtspiele bite, as it is in easy walking distance.

Unfortunately this place is getting too popular. The 2nd in charge waitress is a bit keen on increasing revenue and will ask you at reservation time "is 2 hours long enough?". She then tried to kick us out 30 mins before that time... and then stormed off in a huff when I said that she was mistaken. Several tricks were used to speed us up as well: Removing the plate of the girl I was dining with, WAY before I was finished (plain rude); Telling us that "the next reservation is there" 35 minutes before our agreed time (!!!); and the crowning glory was when another waitress placed my serviette on my plate and pushed my knife and fork together and carted it off before I'd even finished!!! I'd actually been there twice before and received very good service.. and the pizzas are good. Still, I will NEVER go there again. Why chance getting the same crap service again? Ah yes, almost forgot: They pour the wine dregs into your glass too. Nice floaty bits. To chew on.
