Milchbar / Milch und Bar - Munich

Milchbar / Milch und Bar - Sonnenstr. 12, 80331 Munich, Germany

Do you think the fact that millions of people are queuing to get in is a sign of popularity? If not, they must give away a free T-shirt or something in here.

Everyone calls this place the Milchbar, it is one of the top five places in KPO and it has all the makings of a fire hazard - they jam the bodies into this place so tightly that sometimes you literally can’t move, and even then there is a queue of people outside trying to get in.

Music? Is hard to describe as it is very diverse. You will hear all the hits from your radio plus some esoteric re-mixes. Bar? On the right when you enter. Can’t miss it, it takes up most of the room, unfortunately. Crowd? Young, beautiful, sexy and flirting like crazy. Be careful, every time I have been here, I have not managed to leave before 5am. If you want to catch up with your sleep, go to the movies.

Jammed is not the word! As for the music. well.. I guess it's a german thing.... I was talking to a girl (a very attractive one at that) and asked her if there was anywhere else close by which would be good but not be so crowded.. She replied without a hint of irony: "Yes, but nowhere where the music is sooo good!" They were playing Chirpy-Chirpy-Cheep-Cheep at the time...

Claustrophobics should stay away from MilchBar! I myself, love it! It's true what they say. You'll end up leaving after 5am! People are most outgoing here and willing to dance all night!!

Okay, I wont recommend this bar to anyone anymore. I am really sick of this Munich mentality that they only want the regulars to come in. We wanted to go out tonite to the Milchbar, and the door guys were like "sorry, only regulars." ??? whats that all about? i mean why do they advertise Monday nites as the happening place, but then they only let the regulars in? Pretty stupid reason to pay for unused advertising. SO yeah, people.. go some where else, where they are nicer to people. -corey

Its been ages since I've been there and from what I hear it hasn't changed/improved in the meantime.I stopped going there since my drink got spiked there about a year ago...and considering the situation, it could only have been someone who works there...thats when I decided I don't really need to go there anymore. Ok, so I might be somewhat prejudiced by this bad experience, but even otherwise...I never understood why there's such a massive crowd at the door... not like anything inside is worth that waiting-time. Anyway, if you do insist on going: Girls, watch your drinks!!

There's one in every town - the place of last resort - when you've either been booted out of the last club at 5am and your choices (and powers of discernment) are wearing thin, or, failed to meet your dream match in that schicky place and are now drunk and quite happy to meet your nightmare. If you can get past the Yugoslavian Army Commando at the front (who has some eye for accessories - tough but fair and don't argue or you disappear) you will enter the ring. In the red corner, sexed up girls big on advertising but not quite as big on sales waiting for the Prince-regent of Lichtenstein to come stumbling in after the gala ball at the palace. In the black corner, a stumbling mess of trolleyed fellas now on their third venue and 17th drink, staring crosseyed at the cleavage, bouncing 3 feet from their noses with little strings of drool hanging from the corner of their mouths. When the bell rings there's a kind of melee of unabashed rooster-chases-chicken antics where (if I'm any judge) getting lucky probably means making it home alone.

Went to the milch bar on january the first this year. Although it was the day after the celebration the place was happening. Got to the Marienplatz train stop and asked some Beautiful German girls how to get to the Ostbanhoff stop. They took me by the hand and kept me all night. We danced our asses off. I did it in 30lb snow boots, but it didnt matter. We were there till about 4 am. It was cool as shit. They played 80's music. Not totally what i was into, but they atleast played the hits, so i danced anyway. Best part was Laura and Celia. Those girls were cool as shit. Long Live Munich.

I have been there only once with a VIP ticket and found the place to play some good techno, but over all its a small place (compared to the ones we have in States or Barcelona) and the bouncers are the entrance are F***ing racists. They would never allow colored people to get in ...even if you go with a dozen sizzling blond's. I suggest non-whites or non-blacks for that matter not to waste time trying to enter Milch Bar or any other club in Kult Fabrik except Club 4.

I'm "non-white" , I'm not hot and I have never had any big problem to get in there or any club in Kultfabrik...

It's not hard to get in there now because the quality of the crowd has been diluted. They had a tougher door policy when the place was genuinely cool (i.e. before it moved from Kunstpark). But Milchbar 1997-99 was the best place Munich has ever had.

I love this joint. I once went home with a blue wig on that some girl had. Brought it back 2 weeks later and she bought me drinks since I brought it back... Place is REALLY packed in the winter but I loved it. I think I knew 2 songs... Der Kommisar and 99 Luft Balloons. Though when they played Hasslehoff my friend (German) told me at least, so he counts as a 1/2 song I think :)
