strange location (behind a Tankstelle, a filling station) but good good good good food and impressive service, very kind, almost too much...
Posted by: "Marco" at 1:22 pm on 8.Dec.2004Shurely you're joking, Meester Marco? I had a chicken jalfrezi here a while back and it wasn't worthy of the name "curry". Sauce was extra bland. Not a hint of spiciness in there at all. Service was functional, definitely not "impressive".
Posted by: "Jack" at 1:25 pm on 8.Dec.2004i was there for lunch and the food was almost perfect, comparable with the one of Swagat, that is far more expensive. Standard appetizers and very spicy and tasty main courses. And the waitress was really nice and sooo kind. They even offered a grappa. This was some months ago. If something has changed, i do not know.
Posted by: "Marco" at 1:53 pm on 8.Dec.2004Mehek is a perfectly acceptable restaurant. By Munich standards. If you're British, however, and you enjoy your curries, then this place simply doesn't cut the mustard. Fact.
Posted by: "Edwina Curry" at 5:51 pm on 8.Dec.2004in fact i´m italian, so probably i used different criteria :-)...
Posted by: "Marco" at 6:01 pm on 8.Dec.2004I feel its good and not too expensive also. The service was not so much good but its OK.scince its very near to the Hotel I stayed so its more then fine for me.
Posted by: "Snehashish" at 3:43 pm on 5.Jan.2006Love the all you can eat lunch special (mon- sat), 6.50 for lunch. Always a veggie dish or two also on the buffet.
Posted by: "Anonymous" at 7:00 pm on 2.Oct.2006The service was friendly and attentive, but the food was flavorless. It had nice colors, though. Edwina's comment is spot on, but her choice in metaphors is a strange one - mustard for a curry house?
Posted by: "Desert Rose" at 1:30 am on 26.Jul.2007Sure, mustard shows up a lot in Northern and Eastern Indian recipes. Sarson ka Saag (mustard greens and spinach) is a classic Punjabi dish. And the combination of mustard and chili is what gives Bengali dishes their heat. And don't forget the toasted mustard seeds as a topping for your dal.
