Max Emanuel is a small cosy beer garden in a back courtyard. Middle of Schwabing but very quiet. Outside of beer garden season it's a fairly average Bavarian style "wirtshaus". They also have a large dance floor though, in a separate room at the back. There are salsa classes here many nights of the week. All in all, recommended.

Max Emanuel - Munich

Random factoid, there's a brass plaque above one of the gent's urinals stating, "Your President once took a Pee here" (in German of course).

Max Emanuel - Munich

By the way, Max Emanuel is frequently mis-spelt. Sometimes as Max Emmanuel, or Max Emanuelle, or Max Emmanuelle.

Great spot! Lively crowd, interesting mix of folks. Nice to dogs. The beer garden is tiny but really nice. Secluded feeling.

And if you're done with this place, you can go to The Arc Pub which is just around the corner.
