Master's Home - Frauenstr. 11, Munich, Germany
A friend helped me discover this place. Discover is the word, as I could have walked past it a million times without noticing it. The entrance is quite small, but it hides a great place for drinks or dinner. You enter and there is a huge peacock (a stuffed one) on the wall in front of you. You walk down the stairs and you start to think what the hell is this place?. Then you see the restaurant. Very stylish.

There was a big table one night we went there and the waiters had scattered red rose petals on the table to decorate it, which was a very cinematic touch.
Masters Home is modelled on the colonial home of an expatriate gentleman hunter, and hence the ceiling is decorated with Zulu hunting weapons and shields. Other areas of the bar section are equipped to serve as a bathroom, bedroom and study. The bar is superb, and features a huge propeller on the ceiling, which is pretty useless as a ventilator but does make a nice talking point. The bar is a semi-circle with a huge pyramid of liquor bottles behind it. Its been a quiet place a few of the times I have been there early in the evening, and a heaving pit of flirting and conversation later at night, so pick your time carefully. For those defending animal rights, we have to mention that there are some dead animals on the wall. We also need to mention that there are two guns hanging behind the bar. They look like old guns and they probably do not work anymore but you never know.
