Maria Passagne - Steinstr. 42, 81675 Munich, Germany
If you can't find Maria Passagne, look again at the house numbers and ring the bell of the one with curtains across the windows and vines running up the wall. This bar is tiny, private and very chic - even though inside it is terribly kitschy and under-decorated. It looks like a cross between a vinyl-patterned kitchen from the 1950s and a roadside diner.
The very seediness of the place works to its advantage, attracting hip chicks and fashion princes, with all the latest accessories. The food is Japanese-Asian - you know, miso soup, sushi, sashimi and noodles that kind of thing. You need to book, because it is usually full and they wont let you in unless you can answer the Reservierung? question correctly.
I don't know why it is popular, I don't particularly like it and wouldn't recommend it to you, but I guess it's worth checking out to see if you would fit into this kind of scene. Don't go alone; you'll need someone to talk to.

well, you have to ring the bell to get in; apparently no real door selection, but the waiter will look you deeply up and down, in order to make you feel undesired. I guess this is due to the fact that they like to have 95% of regular guests, and - since the location is really small - that´s all they need. the best corner of this place, the sofa at the right side, is always "booked", i guess also for special stammgäste. people claim you can eat good sushi here but i did not try. i guess this place has some potential, but it will take years to become a well-known-face, and in the meantime you will feel mostly uncomfortable.
