This place has pretty good food. I've been there several times, for dinner and for the lunch buffet. It's not a huge restaurant, but nicely decorated and comfortable. The service is friendly and good. During the week, they have an all-you-can-eat buffet for 6.50, and the buffet is really good.

Posted by: "terryr" at 7:25 am on 20.Mar.2005I've eaten here 5 or 6 times and it's been excellent every time, the boss is from Bradford originally (if I remember correctly) and we had a nice chat about indian food in Germany. Their Peshwari naans are very good, but watch out for the indian rum ...it sure packs a punch !
Posted by: "Neil" at 11:39 pm on 25.Mar.2005I thought the food was very good there and the service good. The onion bhajis are proper ball-shaped if you ask for them like that.
Posted by: "Roland" at 10:55 am on 3.Aug.2005I and a friend of mine had a bitter experience at Maharani. The person there was arrogant, and irritated us so much that we had to leave the restaurant without eating food there. Sadly, the person treated us badly as we were Indians and was busy bootlicking Germans. :(
Posted by: "Mithlesh" at 9:42 pm on 11.Oct.2006Overpriced, Bland & Rude. We went there as a group of 22...you would think that a group as big as this would command premium service, but sadly the service was horrible. The waiters were rude - one even dropped a dish right next to us and instead of appologising, acted like it was our fault. But bad service can be forgiven if the food is good - which in this case it was not. Being a regular consumer of indian/pakistani food, I consider myself a resonably good authority on the subject - and I would rate the food as 3 out of 10. In short, stay away! Bad food, worse service and high prices.
Posted by: "Hz" at 9:55 am on 19.Oct.2006I find the food god but the service could be better. I was there on a Friday and there was one waiter for the full restaurant until about 9PM. It took a long time to order, get food, and pay.
Posted by: Red at 9:55 pm on 14.Sep.2007You also have to watch how many beers are on the bill at the end! Especially if you are a big group. Beware . . . .
Posted by: Jeckel at 12:28 am on 16.Sep.2007My husband and I were there last night for dinner. Being Indian and having tried out many indian restaurants in Munich, I have to say that this was really the worst. The service was bad and the food mediocre. They brought us the wrong dish and over charged us on top of that. Then they acted like it was our fault. One waiter even raised his voice at us! All I say, is never again!
Posted by: "Aiswarya" at 9:37 am on 5.Oct.2008Is it true that the owner/staff has changed at this place in the last few months? Or just a rumor... anyone know? May explain the sudden change in service and quality.
Posted by: Schnookie at 10:27 pm on 9.Oct.2008Ate here for the second time in as many weeks. Food was superb but a little pricey (12.50€ for chicken jalfrezy), and it took quite a bit of time to receive it. But the food was worth the wait.
Posted by: CincyInDE at 9:25 am on 25.Sep.2009Food was fine but they didn't bring it as hot as I wanted it, even though I'd specified "English hot". They did apologize profusely and explained that the waiter taking the order was new and didn't know what "English hot" meant. They brought out another hotter sauce and that helped. The garlic naan was fabulous though, and the green chutney one of the freshest I've had in town.
