L&i Bar and Restaurant - Munich

L&i Bar and Restaurant - Ledererstr. 17, 80331 Munich, Germany

"L&i Bar and Restaurant" is a new bar and restaurant that recently opened in the premises previously occupied by the Bangkok House Thai Restaurant.

The new owners seem to have gone to some effort to renovate the place. It looks a lot brighter and inviting than in it's previous incarnation.

I can't comment yet on the food and service as I've not been there yet.

This restaurant is owned and operated by the same people that own Landersdorfer und Innerhofer.

I went here several times when it first opened. With a relatively small menu plus extras on the board, the quality of food and preparation is excellent, if sometimes a little pricey, and the wine list compliments the Austrian feel to the menu superbly. The service is particularly friendly and efficient, and the room is bright and airy. If you haven't booked you can always wait at the bar for a table. Be warned! If you like cheese to end your meal then DON'T order the chees platter here. The portion I received was unbelievably small and totally disproportionate to the price charged, a disappointment that has stopped me from going there again since! Such a shame!

Great quality food in a nice, classy, romantic, upmarket setting. pricey (Munich average price for dinner, I guess. estimate starters 10€,10-30€ mains. Similar to Seerose or Brenner or Kaisergarten in price and target clientele)

Top place, as long as you're ready for the bill. We've been there a few times now, and on our last visit a 5-course surprise menu for two with a couple of bottles of wine came to about 300 Euros, but of course a large chunk of that was the wine. It's a bit of a hit, but reasonable for what you get (and remembering that you're in Munich). I more or less agree with chrisopera about the cheese plate: it's small, which would be fine if the cheeses were top-notch, but unfortunately they're rather ordinary. Having said that, the cheese plate was a very minor point in an otherwise excellent meal, so I wouldn't consider it a reason not to go back.
