I have been so many times and food and atmosphere are just great - very nice garden for nice summer evenings.

Posted by: "Porker" at 12:08 pm on 21.Aug.2005I have recommended Le Sud several times on the forum, but have never actually written an 'official' review. After yesterday evening, I knew it was time to give this place the props it deserves. I've been a loyal customer of Le Sud for over a year, and manage to make it over there about once a month or so. I can honestly say I have never had a bad evening there. I celebrated at Le Sud for New Year's Eve 2005, and watched the final match of the World Cup there this summer. Last night the restaurant was packed with Christmas dinner party patrons, but despite the crowd, we got excellent, attentive service. My water glass never went more than half empty without being promptly refilled, and the waitress actually took the time to explain the dishes on the specials board, and happily went off to ask the chef a question I had about the chocolate cake. As always, food was superb - I always enjoy the fish dishes at Le Sud, and last night the carpaccio of salmon was divine. My favourite element of Le Sud is the wine - their 'house' Cote du Rhone is excellent. The rest of their wine selection is impressive, but why bother when the house choice is so good - and very reasonably priced. Cozy, intimate, great service, delicious food and terrific wine. Le Sud is hands-down my favourite restaurant in Munich. Highly recommended.
Posted by: "jb" at 11:49 am on 16.Dec.2006I'd agree with the other reviews here. Le Sud is great. We went for our anniversary dinner a couple of weeks ago. Wish we could afford to go every week. Try the "Lapin"!
Posted by: "Laura T." at 7:10 am on 18.Dec.2006Went to this restaurant last night with some friends. Service started off as very attentive but the restaurant was quite quiet. Each of us had starters and I can recommend the fish soup. Flammkuchen are very small but enough if you are having 3 courses. House red wine is a bit limp but entirely drinkable. We also had a bottle of Sancerre which was very good and recommended by the waitress. Very nice ambience in the restaurant and despite service grinding to a halt between our main courses and dessert they were very friendly and it would not put me off going back.
Posted by: "Lisa" at 9:52 am on 12.Feb.2008We had booked a table for the candle-lit evening, 3 weeks in advance, with a note to say we would like a quiet table. When we arrived they had placed us at the back beside a large group of loud men and one or two women. Unexpected on what is supposed to be a romantic evening, but not their fault. I asked if we could sit somewhere else as it was a bit loud to which he shouted, "well, it will be loud everywhere tonight" and marched over to a table near the toilet. I pointed out that it was only a question and no need to be so impolite and we left. Ate at Les Cuisiniers instead which is much better and where the staff are actually French.
