The L-Bar (Lechthaler) was opened in 1999. In mid-2004 Ernst Lechthaler sold the franchise to Wolf-Dieter Kornemann and the bar became "Kornemanns L-Bar". The bar failed (lack of custom) and as of August 2005 it is closed. It is not known whether it will re-open under the "L-Bar" brand or be sold off and become something else entirely.

The L-Bar is a cocktail bar and Japanese sushi restaurant. There are over 150 cocktails to choose from, all of them priced between 7 and 11.
The "L" stands for Ernst Lechthaler. This is a guy who owns a number of different bars including the Lounge 2. L-Bar is his original and "home" project.
The L-Bar is on Wurzerstrasse which is just off Maximilianstrasse, down from the Opera House.

I only have one thing to say... very good sushi!!!
Posted by: "Anonymous" at 1:23 pm on 22.Jun.2005Well, I wasn't prepared to spend 9 for a simple gin-tonic, so I opted for a Weißbier. It came in a 0,33cl bottle with a twist-off cap and we had to pour them ourselves. I should add they were ONLY 3. I think for sushi I would go to a real sushi bar. This was just laughable. Pluses for ambience. That's it.
