Laab is an Augustiner-linked bar/restaurant that opened in March 2008. It's quite spacious inside with high ceilings and a separate back room available for functions. They also have a large selection of board games and books available for the customers to use or read while there. Food is of the usual Bavarian fare.

Senftlstraße 9
81541 Munich

Directions:
Rosenheimer Platz is the closest S-Bahn stop or it is easier if you take the Tram 15/25 direction Grünwald/Großhesseloher Brücke.

Incidently, this address was previously home to Kilombo, which has since moved to the Westend.

Currently turns into a smoking club at 10pm. Please update in the comments below and this line will be changed.

We arrived with Toytown for the drinks tuesday and the place was large but empty with plenty of space. The library area looked interesting although I didn't check it out. I ended up selecting the Thai Chicken with peanut sauce and coriander which was served with rice (€10.60). Although we had to wait a little, the food was good with a reasonable portion size but not at all spicey. The service was very friendly (Sleepless seems to have connections there). The only downside is that if you stay after 22:00, the place turns into a 'smoking club' and everyone remaining must apply for free membership. Those of us not wanting to join were able to finish our drinks without being rushed.
