Posted by: bubblylady at 12:16 pm on 24.Feb.2004La Villa regularly holds "Murder Mystery" dinners. Each table forms a team, one of whom is the murderer. A host then comes in and explains the circumstances of an imaginary murder. All teams compete to solve the mystery. This happens every 1st and 3rd Sunday in the month from 7pm. Participation is 49 euros per person. You must reserve in advance.
Posted by: "Hugh Dunnit" at 4:41 pm on 4.Mar.2004I think it is ok for small groups of like 2 but not more, I went there with thirty peeps with reservations and though the drinks were flowing the food orders I rate at 10%. 6 of us got food and 3 what we had we ordered. and then they overcharged for the "Bier" by 20 cents a pop. After 2 hrs we unfed cancelled our orders and then I left with my unfed wife. The waitress was in tears because of the crap kitchen guys and the false prices on the menu that we refused to pay. We did tip her. definitely not recommended for large groups even with reservations. they suck. take care, space
Posted by: "space" at 12:03 am on 29.Jul.2006There were only two of us, but we had the same awful experience. My quesedillas came an hour after my friend had finished his meal. The quesdillas were drenched in oil, fried too long and made me sick. Too bad this place used to be nice, but all my friends have had the same bad experience. Now we just go to Bamberger Haus to sit in the nice lounges in the garden on warm evenings, sip beer and stick to Bavarian pretzels. That works because you pick them up yourself and pay at the bar inside.
Posted by: Pink Jello at 11:59 am on 2.Aug.2006Was just there during the first week of Oktoberfest. A friend of mine took us there. "Us" meaning a party of three. Service from the kitchen was very slow. Do not go there if you are very hungry, because you will be STARVING by the time that you get your order. The waiter seemed very friendly and apologetic, but the kitchen was just not moveing efficiently at all. We made the mistake of ordering the Churrascaria Brasil. Apparently, you must eat the meat in sequence and they will NOT serve it out of their proper sequence. News to me, but to each his own. Food was tasty when it arrived but the wait made it frustrating.
Posted by: "Brian" at 6:38 pm on 10.Oct.2007a group of ten of us went here last night. the service was very attentive. most of our crowd had the Rodizio which they enjoyed a lot. they were able to serve themselves at the buffet between meat courses. the rest of us ordered separate meals from the menu (I had the burritos) which arrived quickly. the portions were massive and the food was tasty. they brought Rodizio dessert for all of us which was really nice, we had flambéed pineapple and caramelized bananas, very yummy indeed... a few of us had cocktails, some of them at happy-hour prices, they were very good. we'll definitely head back there at some stage ☺
