La Piazza - Kölnerplatz 7, 80804 Munich, Germany
Directly in front of the Schwabinger Hospital, offers standard italian dishes.
I have mixed feelings: soups, pastas and salats (beware to the big portions!) tasted almost perfect (and they´re not overpriced) but me and my girlfriend had than some problems to digest the whole... but i´m not sure i can blame it on the food, so i will give it a second try and let you know.
Plus: integrated italian foodshop.

This is one of my favourite no frills Italian restaurants - plenty of seating for outside dining during the summer months with outside heaters for the cooler autumn months. It's a popular place for lunches and they always have daily specials. The Gnocchi is particularly good. However, the Anti Pasto is not good value I discovered last night at Euro 8 for just a mixture of salami and mortadella, couple of olives and a piece of marinated artichoke. They do Pizzas, and all the daily pasta dishes I have tried so far have been pretty good value and well prepared, but big portions (but smaller at lunchtime). Wine is reasonably priced and the table wine is good quality. I don't think it is the kinda place to take a date though, and I believe it is closed on Saturday nights (if you can believe it). However, it is definitely somewhere to go for a change without being disappointed with the all round dining experience - it certainly won't leave a dent in your purse/wallet. I would recommend lunchtime over dinner. Also, it can get a bit smokey when busy during the winter months if you are smoke sensitive. Waiters very nice and friendly and attentive without being a nuisance.
