This restaurant doesn't look much from the outside, or inside to be fair, but the food is great. We went on a Friday night and were the only people there until about 8pm then it got quite busy. But I would recommend the food for those of you who miss a good chinese, and want a change to Bavaria food. One other minus points is the atmosphere is a bit lacking, but the service is pretty good.
Posted by: "Anne" at 10:04 am on 12.Jul.2004Their Vietnamese spring rolls are out of this world - but you have to go eat them in the downstairs (windowless) restaurant. If you take them from the take-out upstairs, they are cold more often than not as they do not tend to keep the take-out food warm enough
Posted by: "mini" at 7:19 pm on 14.Jul.2004Really liked it! the place itself doesnt look amazing, but the food is great. I ate inside but next time Ill be sure to get it to go -its considerably cheaper- although I wouldnt say its very expensive. Try their fried rice and egg rolls. Yumm! No wonder its always full at lunch time!

Posted by: "Bart" at 1:45 am on 14.Aug.2006KamYi is a regular with me. I love their food. Only problem being the timing of the staff: They never bring the starters or the main courses at the same time, even if you are only going as a couple.90% of the time, my starter only came when my partner had already finished. If you are a social eater like I am, it can be a bit annoying. The service isn't too friendly either and they don't have a non-smoking section. Still, I love their food and can really recommend it.
Posted by: "majorbummer" at 12:32 pm on 17.Aug.2006this place sucks!! It's not even Chinese ...or Asian for that matter. I'm Asian, and am disgusted. It slightly resembles vietnamese, and all the people working there are vietnamese, even wearing vietnamese uniforms and decorating the place with vietnamese woodcuts. But the menu is distinctly weird.
Posted by: "pipa" at 9:09 pm on 23.Feb.2007I ate such disgusting chinese noodles for the first time in my life! I ordered wan tan noodles but could not eat even one wan tan. the carrots from my friend's food were not cooked enough, they were sooo hard!!!
Posted by: "stranger" at 12:23 am on 17.Sep.2008I am a regular at Kam Yi and do not agree with Stranger. I have never had a bad meal there. I was just there on Monday evening again. I think they cook better than Jade. Really can't find anything negative to say about their food. Remember also that the owner is Vietnamese, no idea where the cooks come from.
Posted by: majorbummer at 3:33 pm on 17.Sep.2008For your update. It's closed now,but there is a main shop near Rosenheimerplatz.
