Interview - Gärtnerplatz 1, 80469 Munich, Germany

This is a nice, generic place with a big Terrasse for the 30-somethings who want a pleasant, quiet, summery dinner.

Situated directly on Gärtnerplatz, it’s pretty popular on summer evenings.

Inside, it is decorated in a very modern way, with a variation on that black and chrome furniture that should have gone out in the 1980’s, indirect warm lighting and a large serving section that glistens and sparkles. It’s a little bit expensive for what it is, which is a café trying too hard to be chic.

Was there last night, sitting outside on the terrace. We really enjoyed our food and the flair of the square is really nice. Felt like a piece of Italy with very friendly service, reasonable prices and the illuminated Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz right in front of us. tables are suitable for two maybe three ppl but you are not that squeezed like in some street cafes in Schwabing. Only 5 mins walk from Viktualienmarkt but a bit off the beaten track.

Smack on at Gärtnerplatz. Not a bad place for breakfast, not like they really offer anything extraordinary either but I'm the last person to complain about a good portion of nicely done scrambled eggs...
