Horn of Africa - Munich

A lovely place. Germa - the owner/waiter is always willing to accomodate in any way he can. The food is very tasty - and somewhat exotic. The place can get a little crowded and smokey. One thing to watch out for is the smell - I guess it has something to do with the preparation of the food, perhaps the kitchen doesn't have great ventilation - you end up smelling like you work in a chip shop. Not recommended if you're going out afterwards!!

Food is extremely tasty and eaten with the fingers! The restaurant is comfortable even if you're in a large group.

i visited the horn of africa a few month ago. and i cant recommend it at all. we were there on a workday night around 8 o´clock. the restaurant was half empty, only one other table seated. still we had to wait 1,5 hours for our food! when we dared to ask the waitress (a nice young girl on her first shift) when we could expect our food to come (which was after 45 min and not even the starters had arrived) the cook/owner came to our table and told us it was our own fault that it took so long because my friend wanted her lamb "gut durchgebraten" and not half raw. in my opinion that doesn't take half an hour. then, another 40 min later, finally our orders arrived. it was okay, but not as good or as big as the price lead us to assume. if he had made up for the long waiting time with a really friendly service - alright, it would have been okay. but he was VERY unfriendly, and when we left, and wanted to give our waitress (who was not responsible for the long waiting time and was nice) a tip, he collected it. so if you want to waste your time and money on overpriced food and a grumpy cook/owner, horn of africa is the place to go...

Walked past there earlier today and it is shut. Has re-opened as a turkish or similar cafe restaurant.
