Götterspeise means "food of the gods" bzw. often a Jello / gelatine dessert in German, but this one's a chocolate shop and cafe. Oh and a lovely one it is too. (It would be a non-smoking bar if it were open later at night, yes, I'm cheating by calling it that.)

Non-smoking.

Has all the really expensive brands -- Domori, Dolfin, Zotter... the latter is also organic and only the beginning of their organic chocolate selection that continues on to Green & Black's dark chocolate coated butter biscuits with ginger. Only ten to a box, but oh my. Don't open a box if you're alone in the house. €5,60. Actually that's only 56 cents per cookie, not so bad for what you're getting.

Weird things too like genuine Steiermark chocolate-covered pumpkin seeds. They crunch nicely, but we didn't like the taste so well. And let me emphasize -- not cheap. They've also got Australian Homemade truffles, which are really from Australia.

A tip on the Domori though -- be prepared to not like other chocolate so much once you've had it. It's rather disconcerting how different it is. Many people have a similar experience with wine: when they start out buying for parties, they may buy according to most bang for a buck -- the most alcohol for the lowest price. At some point they start tasting real differences between various products and find they can't go back to the really cheap stuff. This may happen to you with Domori -- you'll be spoiled for Hershey's, Cadbury's, Milka, etc... you've been warned.

Back to the shop -- a beautiful place to sit and read a paper or a book with a hot chocolate or a coffee from their selection. And it's non-smoking, because it really is mostly a shop. Still not the kind of place you can bring your laptop to and plug it in for an afternoon of journal writing, especially not on a Saturday when they do get quite busy.

And minga.de has also been there! (In German.)

And: they carry Celestial Seasonings Teas.
