This restaurant was recommended to us by a german friend residing in California. We had dinner there a few weeks ago and were so impressed by its food, beer and charm that we returned for dinner our last night in Munich. The bread pudding dessert is a must!

Whenever someone is visiting me from abroad and I want to take them out for a Bavarian experience, I go to Dürnbräu. Food and service are good. I like the fact that its customers are a mix of tourists and locals.

Their ox dishes are the specialty of the house. If you are into tafelspitz this was also good. Don't tell too many people as this is one of our favourite haunts when it comes to Bavarian restaurants. :-)

Is it posible to get their recipe for Schweinshaxe? I understand it is the best in the World Larry Hines

When there's still some space for dessert try the karamelisierter Kaiserschmarrn, it comes in a "gußeiserne" pan, and is also supposed to be the best in town, do share it , unless you'd like it as main course.

Went there on Friday and Saturday 8 and 7 Dec. Although they were fully booked they found us a table so we could eat there great food. The staff were fabulous, laughing and joking although our German was not fantastic but thier english was. A place you must visit.

I went there for Dinner Saturday. It´s a typical place for tourists and the food is not excellent. Moreover the prices are a little bit high for a "Kneipe". Almost 18 euros for a Schnitzel... You can find cheaper in town (and better!).

The price of eating out has risen everywhere here over the last 2-3 years. I remember in 2006 when you could get a Shnitzel in town for around 12 euros. Now it's 16-18 as here. That combined with the poor GBP exch rate eating out has become a real luxury.
