Degustini - Kapuzinerstr. 25, 80337 Munich, Germany

I was just there this evening, wonderful. Trust Angelika and Fabio to make you a menu -- they change the menu 2-3 times a week, and we never even looked at the paper. Angelika offered to set us up -- was there anything we didn't like? I don't like brussels sprouts, and we didn't get any. Lovely tilapia with fennel, lamb with grissini crust (the first grissini I've ever liked), bruschetta to begin with, and date mousse for dessert -- heavenly. Did I mention a different wine, glasswise, with each and every course? And afterwards we got to talking, Jo and I closed down the place, and Angelika tested our wine knowledge with a German wine from the Nahe (a river in the Rheinland) -- incredible. Though I have to admit, I liked the Riesling Eiswein before that one best, that went with the date mousse. The wines were 3 Euros a glass, btw -- and main dishes ranged from 13,50 - 19,50. In our menu, we had the lamb, which was listed at 14,50 -- so be aware, letting them choose for you doesn't mean that they force you into the most expensive in each section!

Smoking is not allowed. Used to be allowed after everyone had finished eating, but the policy has changed -- even on the website.

I have to say, this is a great place that gives Katzlmacher a run for its money. Very different atmosphere, quite quiet here on a Wednesday evening before Christmas, which was very nice... and for those of us on the South Side of town, a best bet. Need a place for a date? Highly recommended.

Terrace outside open in the summer -- then they'll be open for lunch again too. Next to the Paulaner Biergarten, across the street from the Agentur für Arbeit and the Stadtbibliothek.

Still great! On March 11: wine tasting with a six-course menu, 80 Euros per person. Reserve by March 8 to guarantee a place. See their website for details, including the full menu: chicken, gnocchi, loupe de mer, wild boar with polenta, lemon sorbet, chocolate cake... and two different wines with each. Check your calendars folks!

I ate here two weeks ago for a colleague's leaving-do. She knew the owner and the whole restaurant was reserved for our party. The food was delicious. It was meant to be a 4-course meal, but we managed to get seconds of the dessert; a most amazing chocolate torte. I was especially pleased to see the no-smoking sign. I have no clue about the prices, as our ex-colleague generously paid for everyone, but the food tasted as though it could've cost (for a 4-course meal p/p) ca. EUR 60, it was that good. Really nice presentation too, and both the different wines and breads were tasty. Friendly staff.

We ate there last night - and it was amazing how bad it was! The only great thing about the food was it's styling. Our fish was raw like the service - the taste was halfhearted. Maybe it was theire bad day - sure - it was ours.

The quality is still just as high as before, but the ownership has changed. Fabio's had a kid and moved back to Italy. I've been a regular for more than three years now and can confirm the kitchen staff is the same and they do still give you a different wine suited to each lovely course. Everything will stay the same but the name will change.
