Had a decent and interesting meal here. The food was excellent as well as the friendly service. You feel at home in this restaurant. Try the "Wiener Schnitzel" BEST IN TOWN.
Posted by: "Anonymous" at 5:38 pm on 18.Jun.2003This is an excellent restaurant for a meal with friends or colleagues. Very friendly service, and tasty (although not overly cheap) food. We were there on a Friday, there was live klezmer-style music for most of the evening. A good atmosphere; we will definitely try to go here again.
Posted by: Topsy at 3:39 pm on 23.Oct.2004The charm of this place is not the food which I would describe as adequate. The place has character - an indefinable authenticity given that one is not sure exactly what it is an authentic example of. Elements of modern, minmalist bar lines blend with old europe table style, country inn service and homestyle cooking to present us a Jewish restaurant that excels in Wiener Schnitzel. Whatever else, the place has style, which is perhaps why the director of the nearby Pinakotheke rated it as a favourite place to dine in an inflight magazine I happened to be reading on a flight some time. One can pleasantly while away a late afternoon sampling Israeli wine and supping on Hommus and Pita bread (though I never worked out why on earth they only give you one little piece of bread to go with the delicious tahina) whilst contemplating the pristine inner Hof of this back-of-Theresienstr gem.
Posted by: "Anonymous" at 2:32 am on 20.Oct.2005One of my best evenings in Munich. The service is warmly and the Cohen'S a lovely. Try the Wine from the dessert. It is outstanding. The Wienerschnitzel is the best, and the Palatschinken after was perfect.

Posted by: "Anonymous" at 1:13 pm on 4.Nov.2006Just had a great Wiener Schnitzel at this truly charming find. Better than moms. In response to the post above a lunch for two consisting of soup, the aforementioned schnitzel for each with some extra side dishes, one beer, one sparkling water and finally two expressos was about 42 Euro before tip.
Posted by: "David" at 7:29 pm on 30.Mar.2007The restaurant is about 40 meters removed from the street and can be easily overlooked when just walking by. The other day I spoke briefly with a man who seemed to be the owner. Although they do not strictly keep Kashrut, they do not, e.g., serve pork or mix meat and dairy. When I went there there with a colleague, the service was superb (a rarity in Bavaria!) and the food excellent (yes, I ordered their famous Wiener Schnitzel). This is a nicer restaurant. Wearing jeans would be tolerated but out of place, and most Hauptgerichte are 15-20 Euro. Highly recommended!
Posted by: James_Runner at 11:16 pm on 13.Mar.2008"Wearing jeans would be tolerated but out of place" Hm. Been there with my friends (they know the owner) and all of us wore jeans (3ppl). Did not feel out of place in jeans. We went on a Sunday night. But I agree with your "Highly recommended!" lol ;-)
Posted by: "really?" at 8:49 am on 14.Mar.2008For people who have been to Israel, Cohen's doesn’t serve the traditional Jewish cuisine. It is rather food from the Eastern European and Russian Jewish areas. Nice cozy restaurant. Great food. Fair prices. On weekends they also have live Klezmer music.
Posted by: z-man99 at 9:28 am on 19.Apr.2008Went there last summer; as many have said, it isn't "Jewish food" per se, but food prepared in a Jewish manner. After a promising start, our experience went downhill in a hurry. Each course took over an hour to arrive. The food, including the (in)famous Schnitzel, was mediocre. The worst part though, was seeing the cook and our waiter sitting at the next table chatting amiably while we waited for our food, our drinks, and finally, our over-inflated bill. It may be good if you're "in," but if not ...
