I've eaten here twice, once last year and then again last night. The food is still very good but the prices have come down. You can get a set menu 4 courses for about 45 and a 3 course for about 37, both without drinks. They also have an open menu to choose from which showcases just a few dishes that are in season. Presentation is imaginative and visually pleasing, the food top notch and the atmosphere is really nice. Good lounge music, flatscreen TV with ocean critters swimming by and a really nice waitstaff. Overall a great date place, with friends or with work people. Not quite big enough of a place for me to recommend for a 'special occasion' destination.

Posted by: "Methe" at 8:26 am on 2.Nov.2006I have eaten at Cocoon several times. Each time the food and service has been excellent. The Chef's complimentary starter is usually outstanding - it sounds strange, but the best one was a Cauliflower Foam. It is best to have a reservation. Two weeks ago I went on Friday night, without a reseravation, and we got stuck under the speaker - Music was strange and too loud and we had a difficult time with conversation.

Service attentive but not in any way intrusive and it's always good to see the menu changing regularly - log on to their website and you get it sent to you. Only quibble: food was just 'nice' - nothing to go 'wow' about - but then it isn't quite Pierre Gagnaire or Heston Blumenthal! Like it - will be going back :)
