I had a dinner at Cilento on Wednesday: food was really good and nicely arranged on the plate and service was kind and friendly. The place is quite small, with a cosy and familiar atmosphere. During the evening the cook came out of the kitchen to introduce the newborn baby of the family to everyone!
They do not have a proper card: what they offer is written at the wall and they change it often, so not a big choice, but really fresh ingredients and good quality. We had a beef carpaccio, tagliatelle with crawfish and gnocchi with rabbit tomato sauce and all of them were outstanding. With two glasses of wine the bill was around 50 Euro.
They serve also pizza: we did not try, but it looked good, thin and crunchy.
Last but for sure not least, it is smoke free!!

I second the recommendation. I am Italian and can say this place is good!!! They also have a 25 euro "surprise" 4 course menu. We haven't tried it yet, but are planning to. The place is great for a quiet, romantic dinner, although I'm sure they love children as well, since the cook has a baby himself. There is no printed menu because the cook changes dishes based on what's in season and available. Service was great too, very attentive. The only downside is there is no outside seating. But a huge advantage is...it is completely non-smoking!
Posted by: "mm" at 1:55 pm on 30.Aug.2007We were here at the weekend as a group - the main attraction being that it was non-smoking. Most of us had the €25 surprise menu which was excellent - prepared using seasonal ingredients and with a choice of meat/fish for the main course. Only downside is that the wine is overpriced at €30 a bottle for some pretty mediocre wine. Owners are very friendly and accommodating. Would definitely recommend it.
