Cedar Lounge - Isabellastr. 13, 8 Munich, Germany
Until early 2004 this address was an Italian restaurant called Il Gattopardo. In the summer of 2004 it became a fairly high end Lebanese restaurant.

We went last Friday night for a 'date night' and found it to be very nice. The staff was extremely gracious and service-oriented, the food good (we ordered 4-5 small dishes, drinks, dessert), and the atmosphere 'interesting' since it almost seemed like they were trying to be Old World and Hip, but the two don't really mix. The clientele was a bit older, and the place did not fill up at all, so it's certainly not a 'hot spot'... but if you're looking for a nice place for dinner, with just a hint of trend without the 'posers', good food (Falafel was scrummy!) and service... then give Cedar Lounge a try!
Posted by: "squirrelgirl" at 10:31 am on 5.Apr.2005We went to the Cedar Lounge this past Friday for dinner, and I echo most of squirrelgirl's comments - food was excellent (chawarma to die for) as was the service. They spoke excellent English, particularly when they were trying to explain that a belly dancer would be performing that night and I just wasn't getting it auf Deutsch. Loved the old photos of Beirut circa 1940 on the walls. A nice selection of Lebanese and French wines were available. Place was fairly full when we were there, with 3 big parties.
Posted by: "butterbean" at 5:11 pm on 29.Nov.2005Try their delicious Lebanese baklawa! It's made with various kinds of nuts and comes in single and family size gift boxes -- 10 Euros for the single.
Posted by: Pink Jello at 12:08 pm on 10.Dec.200510 out of 10 for this restaurant. Service was excellent, as was the food - our waiter recommended a mixed array of warm and cold dishes to start with - yummy! And 2 hours later we were still eating them. Will definitely be paying another visit very soon. Would recommend to make a reservation beforehand.
Posted by: "Swimming Kermit" at 5:03 pm on 14.Dec.20063 out of 10. I was there at the weekend and have to say the the Decor was nice and the staff friendly. However, I thought the food was a rip off. Mixed starter was fine , no complaints. However, the main course was insulting. We all(4) ordered different chawarmas. Mine was beef and chicken for approx €16. This was, effectively dried kebab meat with a small dollop of houmous and a little lettuce on the plate. I could have paid €3.90 at ostbahnhof for a Durum and I would have had a far superior gourmet experience. We all suffered the same experience, so for the prices they charge, it was insulting. Maybe the other dishes are far better but I won't be going back and give it a second go. One redeeming feature is that they do sell some very good Lebanese wine. Large profit margins are only OK if the customer feels that it was worth it... we certainly didn't :-(
Posted by: potbelly at 10:58 am on 14.May.2007Clean , friendly. Food dry and overpriced. So many better restaurants in Munich. Like 99% of them.
Posted by: "alan whale" at 1:54 pm on 17.May.2007Went in a group of six this week and had a fantastic meal. Service was fast, professional and very friendly. The waiter suggested we didn't order from the menu, instead he brought us lots of different food to share. Starters, mains and pud were excellent, each time he managed to gauge exactly how much more we wanted to eat. House Lebanese wine was very good especially the red which was superb. Having eaten and drank as much as we could the bill was €40 per head - OK not as cheap as the Ostbahnhof but worth every cent :-)
