CAST - Munich

Very similar to Cafe Sax, except this is in Schwabing. Food is maybe not quite so good as Cafe Sax, but there's nothing wrong with it. They have a large terrasse from which you can watch the world go by on Leopoldstrasse. Service is pretty standard for Leopoldstr, not friendly but functional.

Monday night is a pasta night, I wouldn't recommend. Sat night is "Ribs special...All you can eat". Tasty ribs, I can confirm. Check chicken wings on Sun night...30 wings for €5 Very cheap and lecker!

Cast has some really cool student parties and I dont agree that the service isnt good, the girls there are VERY nice ;)

The student party is every Thursday with 4€ in. They even have a buffet there earlier like, i think till 7:30pm. Cocktails are quite decent.

If you fancy a Starkbier in the sun, CAST on Leopoldstrasse are serving Triumphator (from Loewenbraeu) till the end of March.

Was not too impressed with their food. Found it to be over priced. Nice place to sit outside. They do make a lovely chocolate layered cheesecake which I would highly recommend (good price).

the portions are really generous. The staff friendly. On summer, the terrace is pleasant, and there is an outside cocktail-stand available. Nevertheless, as many places on the Leopoldstrasse, the atmosphere is questionable.

I found the place to be a major disappointment. Horrible burger, and service with a snear. Anyone know of a GOOD burger in town??? Perhaps the Hard Rock??? Patrick

Went to CAST for a cocktail Saturday (5 Feb 2005) after the 6nations. Long Island Iced Tea was terrible, all coke and an aftertaste of marmelade. I wish my German was good enough to complain.

I had the chicken Caesar salad in Cast on Sunday night and I am only now able to hold down water after a terrible two days suffering from food poisoning.

Cast = "Cafe am Siegestor". I've been there hundreds of times and often wondered where the name came from. I never made the connection with the "Siegestor" - the gate at the end of Leopoldstrasse. Gee! You learn something new every day.

went here a few weeks ago. Terrible Cuba libre that just tasted of rum and syrup, and then a very poorly made chicken wrap. A mediocre place.

I had the miss fortune to think this place looked liked somewhere nice to eat. After terrible service, a disgusting cocktail and chicken wings that came with a lump of orange fat on the plate beside them. I can only recommend that no one else makes the mistake of going here.

It finally closed, so nobody can do the mistake of going there anymore ;-) Let´s wait and see whether a new location will rise up at its place, on the quite commercial Leopoldstrasse

Warum haben in diesem Forum alle so ein schreckliches Deutsch? Da wird doch nicht die italienische Bar nebenan den Konkurrenten schlecht machen wollen?? ;-)
