Café Roma - Maximilianstrasse 31, 80539 Munich, Germany
See and be seen place, recently renovated and definitely a hot spot. The lighting and styling of the place is modern and interesting, designed the German lighting guru Ingo Maurer.
Roma is absolutely stunning in terms of beautiful women, with a great, great Terrasse - but good luck finding a table. It would be better if you could arrive here with the latest Ferrari or your new Porsche, like everybody else seems to. If you own a clapped-out VW camper, find somewhere else, because they will laugh. Seen it happen. Also be prepared to dress less than casually it is not a coincidence that Roma is directly opposite Giorgio Armanis local store.
Roma can be a lot of fun if you are in the mood for flirting out of your league or out of your age bracket, as the girls who throng around the bar are mostly bored and looking to have some fun if my experience is anything to go by. It is like a younger, more lively, more sexy version of Schumann's (which is just across the road) and if I had to choose a place for a good night out with lots of laughter and plenty to fill the eye, I'd pick Roma. If the manager wont let you in, try the side entrance on the main road. It is unguarded, and it confuses him like crazy when you walk out of the bar just after he wouldnt let you in saying Youre right mate, it is too full....

The food here is pretty good and eventhough the crowd is a tad bit pretentious, it's not that bad for being on Maximilianstr. I'd feel akward wearing jeans or sweats to this place. The service is good and most of the staff speaks English. Go for the salads or sandwiches.

Great food, agree slightly pretentious, but if you're a lady, the bar staff are ultranice. Ran into Ollie Kahn and Verena having a twosome here last year. Best on a Friday night and great cosmopolitans for a hot summers night outside.
