Café Neuhausen - Blutenburgstr. 106, 80636 Munich, Germany
Café Neuhausen is a long way from my base, but what a fabulous place it is for a brunch. Been here on a Sunday morning and it was just packed with other people who also think it is a fabulous place for brunch.
Seated at the bar with a friend who lives nearby, I enjoyed a very healthy and tasty breakfast. There are lots of staff both in the kitchen and serving the tables, so the service is impeccable. A word about the décor. There is a propeller on the ceiling.
Together with the bar section of Master's Home, this is the second propeller I have seen in Munich's bars. Are they trying to recycle WWII planes or something? Germans are into recycling but still, I wonder if this has some deeper meaning?

Had brunch at Cafe Neuhausen this weekend and boy we got lucky with our seats on the terrace. Arrived 7 minutes before the sun started shining precisely 11:27 a.m.) its rays on our faces and then baked for the next 2 hrs. They don't do a brunch per se, but have a great breakfast menu, with lots to choose from. I had the #4, omlette with feta cheese and greek fruit salad (quark + plain joghurt + honey) for around 6,50. excellent, friendly service too! My bill was around 13 (b-fast, grande latte, large blackcurrant spritzer). We didn't have to reserve, but as the weather gets better you will have to, especially for the terrace seats. Doesn't matter much if you get out at U1 Maillingerstr. (Elvira side) or Rotkreuzplatz. They can accomodate large groups too.
Posted by: "Ella Star" at 5:45 pm on 4.Apr.2005I work right around the corner from this place. I have tried it a few times, but only because this area is severely short of restaurants which serve lunch. I find the food is average, the prices too high, and the service snotty and indifferent (impeccable? hardly). I avoid it at all costs now. A better choice for lunch is Mango's, which is a couple of blocks further up Blutenburgstrasse - they have nice lunch specials (with a drink included) from 5 to 7 Euros.

Posted by: "Tony T" at 4:58 pm on 25.Jan.2006at present the cafe is closed. a new owner has taken over and from the note in the window it seems to be the management of the schwabinger wassermann. the cafe was popular for its breakfasts, it will be interesting to see what happens.
Posted by: planetmoni at 11:22 am on 24.Nov.2006Yeah, I've been wondering what's going on there - stopped by a couple of times in the past couple of weeks expecting it to be hopping...one more free internet cafe down...
Posted by: "Pistol Pete" at 3:28 pm on 24.Nov.2006The place has reopened and was doing a hopping business tonight. They had a very large screen showing the Bayern vs. Bremen game. In fact, it was too busy for me to get a seat, so I can comment only that the wood oven pizzas looked fantastic and the prices did not seem out of line.
Posted by: "Freiheit" at 6:55 pm on 11.Mar.2007i am not convinced of the new cafe yet. i think it's overpriced. most bars/pubs with large screens would have been packed on that particular day. (see post above)
