Café Eisbach - Marstallplatz 3, 80539 Munich, Germany

Another trendy place - like we would go anywhere else? A fairly new bar and restaurant in a modern office building, Eisbach is named after the small river flowing directly underneath this part of town, the same one that runs through the Englischer Garten.

Café Eisbach - Munich

This place is great for dinner, with a good menu – the food is like a concept here, it’s not really an "all you can eat" place. Actually, I think they design the dishes for photographs, which kind of matches the ambience of the whole place, as some of the walls have been lit to create huge, warm, glowing displays. They are highly skilled at producing beautiful, almost empty plates with nice colours and delicate tastes. Good to impress a woman before she realises that you eat mainly at McDonalds and drink beer like a pig. It's not really a good 'bar' bar, because the actual bar is too small to be lively.

If you are with a group of people, book a table, because there is no real standing room and you won't get a table by turning up unannounced. The people you find here are younger and tend to be young patent lawyers or doctors - both industries have large numbers of practices nearby. Upstairs is more comfortable and a little bit more private, the best tables being those fitted out with leather sofa-esque seating. Downstairs is more café orientated. Nice Terrasse, very sunny for a brunch.

Really good food and a good atmosphere. Waitress couldn't have been any more helpful.Prices not as expensive as i expected for this location. Lots of tables outside for summer dining and just a short walk from centre of city.

It's a really good place to eat and relax. They have an amazing Caesar's Salad which you have to ask to get together with pieces of chicken. The only problem is that I think they're still constructing stuff just across the courtyard. It can get pretty noisy.

What a nightmare is this place. The waiters have been so unfriendly and even aggressive if you have special wishes and questions. Even the bill has been totally messed up. A place not worth to go as it also too expensive for the quality of food! I was ashamed for my business guests for presenting the "friendly" face of Germany.

Shameless, arrogant staff. Pebble in the salad? What do you expect, "it grows on the ground", besides, its not pebble, its "something else edible". They do not suggest, they INSIST that it is "something else edible". Watch out for your teeth and nerves. Or even better, dont bother.
