Café Bracha - Klenzestr. 47, 80469 Munich, Germany

A new (opened late 2003) kosher café. Everything about Bracha is kosher: the food (including the Nutella and cola!), the opening times, the decor, and even the facilities such as bowls for handwashing prior to eating. Apparently the word "Bracha" is the name for the jewish prayer said before meals.

Bracha - Munich

As for food, there are starters such as humus, aubergine, and fish. A starter plate costs €4.50 served with fresh pita bread.

Come here if you'd like to experience a bit of Jewish culture.

i went here prior to reading this review, expecting to get a pastrami on rye like at katz's deli on new york's lower east side (an entirely transporting experience if ever there was one, by the way), but instead was greeted with more middle eastern jewish type fare, which was fine, but not what i was craving! silly me. but i recovered enough to order some decent falafel, which was baked a bit too long, but still very tasty. the service was really charming and nice. my only real complaint was that they needed to turn up the heat. my group and the others around us all had our coats on as we ate.

Although Bracha's food is Koscher and the owner used to work as the Chef at the reichenbachstr. Synagogue and Jewish Community Centre, the restaurant isn't certfied by a rabbi. The owner serves food "as his mother and grandmother" cooked it according to the SZ so it might not be what you expect as "standard" Jewish fayre. The Jewish community is growing more and more in its old centre, fabulous cosmopolitan 80469! :-)

I have been in this cafe for numerous times and I have to tell everybody that practically everything there is awesome. I would like however to commentate the previous posted comment about the abscence of the rabbi's certificat. Personally I have met the local rabbi quiet a few times but it is enough to know that a person like him is not fit to behold such a position. I was speechless beyond imagination when I found out that he asked the owner of the cafe to pay him 4,000 euro and then he would give the certificate for the cafe!!!!!! It is definetely not a fit proposition... Nevertheless, I recommend to come and visit this cafe at least once and I guarantee that the friendly atmosphere and delicious food would effect you.

I found the service friendly, and the food is tasty and satisfying. I had a lovely tomato soup for lunch, and was asked if I wanted more afterwards! There were a number of different languages being spoken by the customers and a nice friendly atmosphere. The decor is modern and stylish. I will definitely go again.

Leah, who owns the cafe with her husband, is hardworking, and her efforts pay off. She sells Kosher foods/items Jewish households will need for the High Holy Days. Non-Jews come here because the seem to know the food will be tasty and consistently good. Also, the cafe is clean.

There is a large variety of products available now in Cafe Bracha, including milk and even salad products straight from Israel!! I have been very pleased to find this upon my recent visit, even further highlighted by the friendly atmosphere and punctual service....Definitely recommend it to everyone!!
