Bodega Dali - Munich

Bodega Dali - Tengstr. 6, 80798 Munich, Germany

Bodega Dali is a Spanish restaurant located in the cellar of the building. It has lots of different little rooms in secluded corners. The decor is all dark woods, no table cloths. It's not too loud, not too smokey, but not lacking in atmosphere either. Warm, relaxed, and easy.

As you might expect from a good Spanish restaurant, the menu offers a wide variety of tapas dishes. Examples: tiger prawns in hot garlic oil, chillied potato skins, cream cheese stuffed Jalapenos, spicey Spanish sausage, serrano ham baguette, marinated mushrooms. As well as the small Tapas dishes, the also have a selection of main dishes.

I'd agree that Bodega Dali is a great little Spanish restaurant. I've eaten here a number of times and have always been happy. A not so great thing happened on the last occasion though. We had reserved for a group of 11 people. Unfortunately three were unable to come at the last minute because of illness and other engagements. All was well until the bill came. Then the staff insisted that we paid for 11 people instead of just the 8 who were actually there. Can you believe it? I couldn't. Daylight robbery it was. We argued, and eventually the restaurant and the group met each other half way. But even so, that kind of arrogance towards the customers is well out of order.

Wow, I can't believe the story above about paying for 11 people? What was there to pay extra if only 8 people ordered!? I've had many good experiences at this place. It is fun to take a group of people to, as long as you reserve in advance (I always add one fictional person to my reservation, otherwise you might find yourself crammed at a table or at someone else's table). It's also good for a nice one-on-one meeting. The food is great, the wine is excellent and the service is friendly. The warm, friendly and unique atmosphere can't be beat.

The worst tapas I ever had are to be eaten here as well as the worst quality/price ratio for a restaurant in Munich. Good if you like USA food though, since the potato wedges were the only decent dish we had. Not recommended to those who except a real tapas place.

We loved the tapas there. The cola rum (Cuba Libre) was strong and tasty, the bocarones (little fishies in vinegar) were heavenly, the lamb meatballs in tomato sauce were delicious. USA food? I'm from the US, but you're not going to find anything like Bodega Dali's tapas at McDonald's or Taco Bell . . . Assuming you're not a snob or a moron . . . go there! Enjoy!

We've eaten here alone and with friends now. I have to say, it's fast becoming one of my favorite restaurants in the city. The food is great, the Sangria the best I've ever had and the service is good. Can't complain that they're only a couple of blocks from our apartment/Wohnung either.

Just to state some of the same things others have said, this is one of my favorite restaurants that I go to again and again. The food has always been excellent and the service is usually quite friendly and good. In 2 years I've only had one bad experience, and that was when a large group placed a huge order right before we did and the kitchen couldn't deal with it. However, that isn't keeping me from returning and bringing my own large grouop!

I decided to go to this restaurant on the hope that would make a nice, quiet and romantic location, and let me tell you that I was very happy, and so was my date! The staff was very nice, and they were not pushy or anything. I would definetly come back on my next opportunity.

If going as a couple, I'd recommend sharing the following three dishes: - the mixed cold platter - the Gamas in hot oil - the Churizio (spicey sausages) That should be enough for the both of you. Maybe one further Tapas plate if you're really hungry. And get a full liter of Sangria at the start. Don't just get half cos you'll only buy a second anyway. It'll hurt the next morning though.

Had an excellent meal here yesterday. Should ave read Salvador's comments first - we went for too many tapas in the end, but they were all wonderfully tasty. The mixed cold platter is fantastic (about 10 different things), as is the flambeed chorizo, the octopus, and the sangria (and we also ordered the second half liter, but it didn't hurt today!). Great presentation, and the cellar rooms are really quaint and mean it doesn't get too loud as there aren't too many people in one room. Super friendly and attentive waiters too. Definitely recommended!

Completely agree with Al : "The worst tapas I ever had are to be eaten here as well as the worst quality/price ratio for a restaurant in Munich. Good if you like USA food though, since the potato wedges were the only decent dish we had. Not recommended to those who except a real tapas place." And I'll add, to their credit- the service is good, the wine OK, but the sangria we had was pretty watered down. So, we just felt that it was a lot of money for over-oily food, not great quality tapas, and watery sangria. will not be going back there.
