Berni's Pizzeria Nudelbrett - Munich

Berni's Pizzeria Nudelbrett - Petersplatz 8, 80331 Munich, Germany

This is a great Italian restaurant in the center of Munich - very close to Marienplatz. They have pizza better than those in Italy. 32" with real mozzarella, healthy toppings, and tasty, thin crust base. It didn't leave me feeling bloated like most yeasty pizzas. During happy hour all pizzas are only €5!!! They also have delicious pasta and steak & excellent wine very friendly and fast service. The staff understand english and are friendly with kids (kids delas and crayons). Tables look out over the Viktualienmarkt and terrace onto the Peterskirche, the best view of Munich!

I thought this place was disgusting. Terrible pizza and not an Italian person in sight. Bad news. Don't go here.

It's definitely not a place where a native Munich person would go to - believe me - I am a native! :-)

I love Nudelbrett! It's great! I'm friends with the owner, we went to school in old country.

Old country? Huh? What's that then?

We went here last saturday night, and it was lovely, nice and quiet and the service was very good. Nice and straight forward Italian, reasonable prices and good food.

Service can be a little slow around lunchtime, and it's a bit expensive if you miss the happy hour(s), but the pizzas are fantastic. Who cares if the staff aren't italian.

Well, the owner and the manager are certainly italian.

bernis is the best kept secret in munich!!! the pizzas truly rock my world! -it is great to finally have fun and friendly service...what a relief from the usual grumpy german waiters. the menu covers traditional italian (lasagna and pizza etc ) to fine fish mmmmmmmm(scampi, grilled salmon, calamari). yes, sometimes the staff are stressed when it is busy, but the food is totally worth it and the view from the back over the rindermarkt was great. ps check out the funky womens bathrooms!

...what a stupid thing to focus on...the nationality of the staff. why didnt you mention the excellent food ? Isnt that why you go to eat out? I guess you got unlucky with the waitress because our was real friendly, and we all had a great time.

It's well lit (I'm tired of places with candle lit menus !), & it's spacious.

Just been travelling europe and not even Italy had such fantastic tasting Pizzas. i went back for lunch and dinner for the 3 days i was in town. The pizza dough has an amazing taste and they actually use real mozzarella. They have a smoke free section too. The quality and cleanliness was 100%. Check it out. You wont find a better place to eat in the center of town.

The quality and quantity of the food are horrible, besides the staff is very unfriendly and the price are very high. Please, never go there. There are a lot of better restaurants in munich. You get a very bad impression of the munich gastronomy.

The executive management send me a gift certificate, after reclamation of food quality and quantitiy, Besides they excuse the behaviour of the waiter, because he ignored my reclamation (letter from March 23, 2006, 12:36 PM). I was surprised. This is a good handling with guests.

What some people fail to grasp is that any good waiter/ress with an ounce of dignity is allowed to be as rude as they like. In fact the ruder the better. As for this restaurant I thought it was superlative in every way, great tasty food, gorgeous waitresses (although not quite rude enough for my liking) and very reasonably priced.... A must for Munich.

Good margherita pizza at a reasonable price and yes, the waiter did speak italian with us (if this is a concern). I have been there twice and will most probably go again.

We have always had great food here. sure you can find pasta or pizza cheaper but not as enjoyable or fresh. we would rather go out less oftern but eat well. my kids love it! Balloons, crayons and kids menus to colour in, icecream, high-chairs, sometimes they have kids tv on in the back room and usually gummi bears or a lollypop when we leave. there are not many places in munich this child friendly. Pizza for kids in the shape of a heart! service is fast and thats crucial when you have restless kids! i recommend it to everyone , esp those with kids.
