Bar Muenchen opened in December 2003 at Maximilianstrasse 36. This address was previously the location for Schumann's American Bar which moved to Odeonsplatz in the Autumn of 2003.
Bar Muenchen is very similar to the previous Schumann's bar. The layout inside is exactly the same. The only things that have changed are that the walls are no longer a yellowy white, but are covered with dark wood panelling. The bar is also open daily, including Saturdays (which Schumann's never was).
The emphasis continues to be on good cocktails and good food with a menu that changes daily. The waiters are all male and dressed in black and white tunics. They are generally much friendlier and approachable than in Schumann's too.
