L'Atelier Gourmet has the same address as La Bretagne and is owned by the same family.
The restaurant is small and cosy, with room for ca. 8 tables. A 4 course dinner is on offer for 34 or 49 if you choose the wine option (which means drinking 0.1 glass of wine with every course). You can also order à la carte.
I didn't choose the 4 course meal as I wasn't so keen on the 'Fischstückchensuppe' (fish soup), but the starter and the main course I chose from the 4 course meal off the blackboard, then switched to the normal menu for the dessert. You actually have 2 choices for every course of this dinner except for the second course, which happened to be the soup.
Chosen starter: Entenlebermousse - this was a very light version of foie gras but equally as delicious. It was accompanied by a small green salad with vinaigrette - a perfect offset.
Chosen main course: quail - The quail was so tender and came in a very tasty sauce with vegetables and some gnocchi. None of this 'small nouveau cuisine portion business' though, as it was very filling.
Chosen dessert: gateau au chocolat - delicious. They warmed it up slightly and served it with a dollop of vanilla bourbon ice cream and drizled some kind of fruity sauce over it. Simply amazing, on a par with the best gateau au chocolate I\'ve ever eaten.
The red wine recommended to me didn't suit my taste, and I can't remember the name now either, but they had an extensive wine list should one be knowledgable about this kind of thing.
All in all - délicieux!

Le Tire Bouchon - closed since 2006 - is now reopened as "Loic" and has nothing to do with Atelier Gourmet.
Posted by: "Johann Lang" at 10:04 am on 6.Dec.2006Went here last weekend and was surprised that our reserved table was outside on the sidewalk, inches away from the slew of parked cars. Try to reserve inside unless you like pedestrians edging past your table and staring down at your lovely food. The food is somewhat expensive but worth what you pay and very nice. One person in our party took the menu with wine included for 49 euros -- this was an extremely good value, I thought, because a different wine came with each course and each wine suited the chosen dish perfectly. That's 4 courses and 4 wines, 0,1 size, all served correctly in proper glasses. I did not choose the menu because I'm not big on dessert and didn't feel particularly drawn to the appetizers ... and once I saw the 9-oyster appetizer on the regular menu, my heart was set on it. 9, count them NINE, beautiful, fresh oysters for 14 euros. I could not pass it up. My main dish was tuna ... and it was fantastic ... it was grilled (really grilled) to perfection. There was a slight oversight, as I asked for the tuna without its accompanying light bernaise sauce and it arrived with sauce, but the truth is that it was light and very delicious. My only gripe about the food was that the same vegetables were served with a few of the main dishes, and I didn't think that tuna went with the vegetables - which were oversalted - that were served alongside. Other than that, the courses were served with perfect timing, welcome pauses in between, a nice, luxurious pace. The service is fabulous -- our waitress was knowledgeable, attentive, and personable. She knew what she was doing; she knew what the food was about; she checked on us periodically and we were never left waiting for a drink and we all had our courses at the same time. I'd say this a special occasion restaurant or if you feel like splurging a bit; the menu is small but incredible. You leave feeling that your money was well spent and that you were well taken care of. If you like wine, you'll be in your glory.
