ASADO is my favourite steakhouse in Munich. The cocktails aren't so good, and the prices are high, but the filet steak is very nice IMO.
Posted by: AquaticMeringue at 11:26 am on 27.Apr.2004The filet steaks at Asado are 14 for a 'Mini' (160g) and 19 for a 'Maxi' (250g). The Maxi's tend to be a 'ball' of steak, i.e. very thick. This means that no matter how you ask for it cooked it will always be rare (or even raw!) in the middle. No idea if this is standard across all steak houses or what. Otherwise, not bad. The meat is South American (Argentinian?). Angus herds I think. Oh, and those prices include a baked potato, toasted baguette slice, and a small salad.
Posted by: "Carnivore Ken" at 10:29 am on 16.Aug.2004Used to go to Asado frequently, but the last months in our steak house (Leonrodstr.) there were new waitresses each time. And this Monday we went there, my boy friend ordered the turkey breast and he got.. pork!!! with the explanation that no turkey was available anymore because of "Vogelgrippe"! And we had to pay in full though he only ate a few of the potatoes!!! Never again!!!

Posted by: "Veris" at 11:10 pm on 30.Nov.2005Well Asado Steak House at the Marienplatz WAS my favourite steak house in Munich. Everything was right there: very good steaks, quick and good service (pretty waitresses i.e. :-) ) Until in Summer of 2002 new owners took over. Once I waited nearly 40 minutes for my steak, and when I finally got it, it was pretty cold and the quality wasn`t that good. I was very disappointed, but thought that I would give Asado another chance in 2003. But again, the next year I waited also long for my food and then it wasn`t the quality I liked so much Asado for...Well all I can say, that it is very sad, bacause it was my favourite steak reastaurant in Munich. But now I found another one that it A+ : Maredo at the Rindermarkt (next to the Rathaus). The steaks are great, price is right and service is quite fast, even when its crowded. Hope my comment helps a few people! MUNICH RULES! AND GERMANY TOO!
Posted by: "Frank" at 7:29 pm on 20.Dec.2005The Asado steak house always had a special place in my heart regarding Munich. When I was in the army stationed in Bad Aibling, I would occasionally come to munich on the weekend for my "night out in the big city" and would always start my evening off with dinner at the Asado steak house. Back then there was on near the Deutsches theater and that's where I would go. after I got out of the army, I moved to the Munich area and would still about once a month go to have lunch or dinner at the one near marienplatz. A lot of good memories. :-)
Posted by: chucktduck at 3:04 pm on 28.Dec.2005i would say that asado steak is the 2nd best steaks in munich. i forgot the name of the italian res. where i had my best steak ever in munich :-)
Posted by: "N" at 2:07 pm on 3.Apr.2007Badest evening ever. The food and service at Mc Donald`s is much better. I am VERY VERY Disappointed.
Posted by: "Tim" at 1:08 pm on 1.Jan.2008Last week passed by when they had the weekly spare ribs special in the Tal location (near Marienplatz). Well you’ll pay 7.77 Euro for all you can eat spare ribs. And this is exactly what you get for. Spare ribs with a nasty aftertaste. A taste, meat with bones tends to develop when it is days old. The steaks are not bad, but given the prices they charge, also nothing to write mother home about. Best part: A huge baked potato. Nothing to complain about this side-dish.

Posted by: "brett" at 5:41 pm on 19.May.2008Were at the Asado Steakhouse Im tal (Munich)today, worst food I have had in a long time, the waitress was very polite but could not substitute the diguisting food. Salad, garlic bread, sour cream and even the steak was really really bad. Never ever again. I am very disappointed. Chris M Munich
Posted by: "Chris M" at 5:10 pm on 14.Jun.2008I fancied lunch at the Asado on Leopoldstr. one day last week, but after taking a seat in the sunshine and waiting in vain for 20 minutes without sight of a waiter or waitress, I left and ate elsewhere. Judging by the latest comments on here, I was lucky not to be served.
