I went there last week and it was pretty good. The service sucked, but the food was excellent. I especially recommend the fried calamari. Just thought you'd like to know!

I said that the service sucked, but four months later I had befriended a very nice waitor named Caloderol. So go there and say hi for me. The service is not as bad as I thought it was and the food was still awesome!

Having eaten in Al Pacino's probably over 50 times. I would have to say I have never found the service bad or had any complains about the food. If I had any complaint about the place it would be that their portions are too big and for some reason I always feel obliged to try and finish it all. This can render me unable to move and nauseated by the sight of food for around 10 minutes.

I wish that I had eaten there, and maybe even befriended a waitor. However, I do not wish to eat there over 50 times like No Mark, and what kind of name is that anyway. Thought you might enjoy that next time you google away. Have fun.

Arriving in Munich about 3 years ago, jet-lagged and shell-schocked by the surroundings, this was the first restaurant that my wife and I ate at... and we have since returned happily many times. Great salads, great Tris di Pasta (customized if you ask), and good service if you befriend a waiter (or waitress). In general, great value (although, yes, the portions are big and there is some pressure to finish them...). Can get a bit smoky inside during the winter, but a nice evening on the patio in summer is one of the best value-for-euro restuarants in central Schwabing.

We went to Al Pacino's on Saturday night and really liked it! The service was excellent and the food was great! We didn't have reservations so we felt a bit rushed, but that is understandable. The tiramisu is huge and yummy! I have heard that during the day it is not as smokey and kid friendly, which is a huge plus!

No one has mentioned their take-out menu yet. It really is a fantastic value (cheaper than the normal menu), good pastas and pizzas starting at < 4 euros. Call ahead and its ready in 10 minutes. Why cook?

Spent 9 months in Munich and treated ourselves to Dinner here at least once a week. Had too, it was such great value. Cosy surroundings, great service, great food - Even offered a brolly on nights when it rained or snowed - as long as we brought it back. The welcome always made you feel at home. L & A - Dublin

The portions are huge!! Delicious really :) The service is great, too. The waiters are actually friendly, which I find very unusual in Munich hehe

Use Al's on a regular basis as it is our 'local'. Do agree that the portions are huge; my recommendation would be starter each and share a main or share a starter and have main each; my hubby can eat massively but even he is beaten by their portions !!! Waiters are lovely and very friendly - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

The food here was great from the bread on the table to the desserts and although the proportions were humongous,we couldn't complain :) It was simply delicious! Also the waiters were very friendly and attentive.. Keep up the good job!

I found the reviews here to be on target. The food is good, but not excellent. That being said, it is the best bang for the buck, er Euro, of all the places I've been too. Lots of food, moderately priced, and I enjoy it. Figure 10-20 Euro per person. The staff is friendly and hard working. The restaurant always seemed packed... a good sign. There are English menu's for the German-challenged and if you don't want to ask then the staff can help you out in English or Italian. It's close location to the Muncher Freiheit U-Bahn stop make it very convenient. Will go back again!
