Every Summer there are 40 to 50 small-scale summer street festivals held in various districts of the city. During these "Strassenfests", which usually happen on a Saturday, a whole street is closed to traffic. The local bars and restaurants set up tables, benches, and food and drink stalls. At some of the larger street festivals there are live bands and other entertainments. You already missed the big Streetlife Festival which was on Leopoldstraße the second weekend in June. But there are plenty more festivals coming up in July and August. And the Streetlife Fest will even make a return at the beginning of September.
