Totally irrelevant to this year's thread, but thanks to the (German?) lady who made the winning Chocolate Chipotle Chili in 2006, I still add a tiny square of Green & Black's dark to my chili here in Minnesota, to accolades all round. Thanks for the memories!

Excellent day out and bloody hot too, both the weather and the chilis although staying till 3.30 am wasn't in my game plan.
Thanks for organising it Loonyspook.

Well, I finally woke up...and after the aspirin, sat down and counted out the loot.
Thanks to the generosity of you all (and especially the Winner who put his prize money straight back into Charity) we raised the sum of
360 Euros for The Klinik ClownsI had a wonderful day out and only realised at the end of it, that I hadn't managed to taste more than the 3 placed Chilis, Oh and
The Arc strikes back, which really was the hottest Chili in my opinion.
I hope you are all looking forward to next year and seeing as it is our
10th anniversary it will be even better.
See ya'll then

Sleep and dream happy thoughts.
More like enjoy the happy farts. There is no gas shortage here.
I don't think anyone's ever regretted being a judge though. I'm looking forward to it already!

My personal favorite was 3Lions, I could have smeared it all over my hands and licked it off.
Kudos to space's contribution, it had me lunging for the sour cream.
I am pleased that we had underage contestants who put up a very good show, I would have asked for seconds if served that at their house.
The atmosphere was really down-home in spite of our desert landscape losing grip every now and then, I'm glad we made money for the Clowns and yes, I will bake the cookies again, maybe for the Bench Party or the Christmas Do.

Hi there,
it was great that you could come along.
If you ever fancy taking on the "Hamburg Franchise", I am happy to help out with a starter pack. (I even have a few Hamburg links)
Who knows it could get big
All you need a few people who think they can do better than the other person...and after that it's easy.
Cheers

I'd been really looking forward to this even for months. However, the chili lost it's appeal when I saw some of the cooks tasting eachother's concoctions right out of the pot. Who taught you mannerless assholes it is OK to dip your spoon in a full pot of chili, taste it, and then dip the same spoon into another pot, over and over. Especially when you know that other people are coming behind you to eat. And we had to pay admission for this! Never again.

As long as the people eating the chili had their Cootie shots, I dont think there was any harm done.

I got my cootie shot with tasting pot #1! That killed off every virus and bacteria I ever had.

Mishell lighten up. Didn't have to read your profile to know your USAnian. Properly spiced chilli will kill all bacteria known to man.
The chances of getting poisened by shared spoons, are as likely as a civilisation being wiped out because of a lack of telephone sanitisers.

You don't go to nice restaurants, do you? Certainly not any with a Michelin star. Your entrée in a Ramsay restaurant, for example, has been tasted at least eight times by no fewer than four people during the course of its preparation and presentation.
woof.
Jeez Mishell, don't think I 'll ever be able to score again after that contribution

Well, now there is a thing...trying to please all of the people all of the time.
Philosophy students in their first year are taught this doesn't work
You know I always love those people who come along and bitch about admission.
1) the organisers pay out to set this event up (and end up praying for good weather and turn out to try and bring in what was spent
2) the Cooks pay out (in some cases such as BadDoggie) very large amounts of money for ingredients
&
3) you get to listen to music in a place where you get discounted beer (which after 5 drinks makes up for the price of admission)
Need I say more.?

Not to mention those gross people who reached into the cookie bowl - with naked, ungloved hands that has been in contact with other people or handling money or patting dogs before! - and grabbed a cookie while touching other cookies. Cookie-cooties are the worstest!
*Happiness is an empty cookie bowl*
I can only deduce that those anti-spoon dippers have never french kissed.
Maybe they have no knowledge of bodily bacteria/fluid swopping experiences.

Actually I know alot of oral bacterias, that is why that grosses me out!

Ooooh, I feel a song coming on:
Mishchelle, ma belle
Dip your spoon into my chili bowl, my MichelleMichelle, ma belle
Nos bactéries vont très bien ensemble, très bien ensemble
etc. etc.(With apologies to J, G, P & R)

French kissing is nice, but when I do it, I get to pick who I do it with. Certainly none of the men I saw double-dipping would have made the cut.
