Combining sports with a social atmosphere

Hello all -
I'm new to Berlin (and Toytown), so this topic might have been covered before. Basically, I'd love to join (or if there isn't one - start) a casual sports team (soccer/football preferred) that is coed and social, in addition to being a good workout. I saw that there is a social Touch Berlin team, but I've never played touch, and I'm fairly keen on football. Also, I know there are some amateur football leagues in Berlin (the FC British Lions, etc.), but they don't seem to be coed or have an explicitly social component.
Does anyone know where I could find more info about this?
If there isn't one, is there interest in joining such a team? The basic idea would be this: we would practice once or twice a week, followed by a wind-down in a bar, for those up for it. I don't know if there is a league of this sort or not, but if so, we could play games every other weekend or so.
Any thoughts?

Hi Jeff,
unless you basically just go for a kick-about in a local park, I don't think you'll find what you are looking for.
You mentioned the Lions and the place where we train has a bar, where most players have a drink after training. We do socialise with each other, but the football has priority.

hi,
i'm a decent 29yo female player looking for either co-ed or women's football teams.
keen to join social games - either organised or kickaround. i've been in berlin for 2months and i really miss playing - in new zealand i played both co-ed 5 a-side and womens 11a -side regularly.
social would be best to begin with but i'd also be keen to join a german women's club here. my german is beginner-intermediate. i've checked online and there are a bunch of women's clubs in berlin but does anyone the best or friendliest for ausanders?
or is anyone looking for female players for their co-ed team?
cheers, paula

I'd try TeBe if I were you. They've got three ladies teams and a good set-up. Just google Veilchenladies.

We totally into the idea of playing soccer/football. We're young female athletes, who play bunch of sports. We used to be on a soccer team in high school and it'd be cool to meet some new people who enjoy sports.
How about meeting in Hasenheide Park in
Kreuzberg? It has huge flat areas and we often see people playing there.

I'd be well up for a kickaround in the park, just round the corner actually.
I'd probably be able to bring another lad too.

To anyone interested - we are meeting at 1pm on Sun. July 5th in Hasenheide Park in Neukolln. We will meet at the park's entrance - it's on the opposite street from U-Bahn Sudstern (U7), there's a bike shop next to the park's entrance "Little John's Bikes" (the address is Hasenheide 61).
See ya all there!

I'll be there too, with maybe 1 other Irish friend.
If we're really short on numbers, there's a little hockey pitch in the park too,
perfect for 2 or 3 aside. See ya tomorrow.

Hey! I've been here since February, and there is a group of Toytowners who play every Sunday at a field near Ostkruez. It's a lot of fun, and so far, I've been the only girl, but maybe if we combine these two groups we could have a real game or two? The other group is under the topic "Association football at Ostkreuz" or something. Let me know!
