Sailing afternoons on Ammersee (2008)

We managed to get three boats by the skin of our teeth. That's why I have now booked a regular boat. I'll let the others tell you what they thought of it.

Hi, just registered again for the 3rd time in 4 years (!) , was in Munich over the weekend and noticed that this was going on, fancied joining but the other half needed convincing...and it took too long ( must work harder on my feminine wiles). As it seems he will be there till the end of the summer I suspect I shall be making a few more visits. Would be great if we could join in on a few of these sailing afternoons. He is experienced tho not qualified and I am, alas, merely an eager beginner.

i have car, but dont fancy driving all the way down alone. also, without a navigator who checks the map i am actually lost in Munich (am fairly new to munich and dont have a navi)

Thank you very much! It was a great day, I had a blast and have just realized I will definitely be able to make it next weekend.
Am looking forward to the curry/snacky/drinky day in two weeks as well, and hope the boats are full of all the cool people that were there today on both boats.

It was indeed a very pleasant afternoon, thanks for organising it. I will try to be there next week, but can't say for definite just yet.

what a way to spend a sunday afternoon. It was really a blast. Looking forward to the next time already.

Travel plans:

Train leaves Hauptbahnhof 12:51, change at Geltendorf and get in to Utting (Ammersee) at 13:40. (Trains can be late, missing connections ! )
Group ticket can be organised if enough people get together.

OR:

Travel by own transport. Meet up at the pier for Ernst segelschule at 13:45

Maybe we meet up before the time to sail for a picnic lunch and give you the chance to ask more questions.

Boat details

No specialist equipment is needed. Suncream, soft soled trainers so you don't slip, a light waterproof jacket in case it rains and perhaps a jumper in case the weather looks changeable or cloudy. We can take bags onto the boat, so changing clothes or carrying drinks should not be a problem.

Costs are for just the boat hire @ € 15 per hour split between us. They can take up to 8 people, kids are welcome.

I have one boat now "permanently" reserved, but need a commitment by Thursday from skippers to book more.

Let me know if you want me to pm you my handy number in case of emergencies ! Works only from Friday evening.

for people travelling by train to Utting, as we found out much to our dismay last week, take the S-Bahn from HBF to geltendorf little earlier (Dont wait for the Regional bahn at 12:51) so that you dont miss your connection in Utting.

I would not be able to make it this weekend though hope you guys have a lot of fun, as we had last weekend.

I'd love to go (and bring drinks to pour) but little mini-bug has a soccer tournament on Sunday. I'm hoping for next week (possibly with only one mini-bug, depending on soccer games and such)
