I am an Australian, currently working in Germany. My Working Holiday Visa expires at the end of September, and I was wondering if I can leave just before it expires and re enter the country as a tourist in October? Or is there a specific period of time that I have to have been outside of Germany to be considered a tourist on re entry?

your posts do confuse me. You are here with the american Army and your husband is stationed in Iraq. If you are here with the US army, does not your Visa too depend on the dependancy Visa. Your other post says that you want to travel around in October... with 3 children and when your hubby is in Iraq. Well wish you luck...

...with the username "Britmum27" whose profile says she is British, but now claims to actually be Australian, in Germany with the American army...

This is obviously the Australian aupair posting under the username of the British mother she works for. The aupair was the one
recently accused of shoplifting and the mum/employer posted asking for advice. Would be helpful if they both had separate usernames (hint hint).

Oh, you can have separate usernames for different people? What about if you're married?

Sorry, yes I am the au pair. I wasn't sure how to go about creating one of the profile thingies as this is the first time I have used one of these forums and I didn't think it was such a big deal. Can anyone help with the visa question?

georgiagirl has a point there. but would have been much better if she had her own username...

Then you just have one username that consists of both your names melded into one like 'GGandNotGG', and constantly say 'this is so-and-so' whenever you begin a post, or maybe sometimes not, and then just expect people to scroll through your entire post history to determine your specific background in order to understand the context and under which name you are posting. Double duh STB.

Ah, I see. "My bad", as I believe they say.
Edit: Huh, what, someone asked a question about a visa? With the usual I-haven't-got-a-clue-I'm-in-the-EU disclaimer, I would assume "no chance" as the six-month rule, whatever that may be, would still apply. But if you really want to know, why not ask the lovely Beamter who gave you the visa in the first place?

Are you going to run away from the court? (And from the Polizi?)

ok, long story short... a friend of ours (a native German) went with us to the polizi station and we worked out that a judge will send a letter but because it was such a stupid little thing the officer we spoke to was highly doubtful that any punishment would be imposed. Just the fine to the store and the situation is resolved. Apart from the car seat issue... thats another matter entirely and solicitors will be involved because the police officer we spoke to was very quick to dismiss everything we had to say regarding that matter telling us that it was our opinion that they shouldn't have put the kids in the car with no seat and that we wouldn't have been prosecuted if we had have put them in the car without a seat.
Does the six month thing apply when I've been in the country with a visa? Could I go to the Rathaus and ask them, do you think they'd be able to help?
