Hi
After exploring the English nursery school options, I have decided that its too expensive. Now comes the time to explore german kindergartens in Loerick or meerbusch buderich areas. Can parents please help me with your views on the best and worst kitas in these 2 areas? I really appreciate your input, as a decision has to be made quickly.
Many Thanks

I've heard that Lummerland is a goog kindergarten in Meerbusch. It's on Karl Arnold Str.

Thanks for your reponse. I have heard they are good too. Its really difficult assessing where your kids should go, as there is no rating system for kg's in germany. In England Ofstead reports, give you an idea on the quality of daycare or school, making it easy for parents. I am struggling really.

My advice is not to stress about it too much. I don't believe there is a dramatic difference between the public kindergartens, depending on which neighborhood they're in. In Meerbusch, I would tend to believe they are more or less the same. And if you're not happy, you can try another one with no penalty (just give sufficient notice). I had my kid in a private kindergarten and was EXTREMELY disappointed and angry that I shelled out so much money when my kid would have had better care and more fun at the public KG. The only reason my kids aren't in a German KG is that I want them to speak English as well as German (they're half German).
Good luck.

Hey Thank You. I agree. Do you mind if I ask where your kids go? I have realised there are many more private daycare options than I thought. I always like to go on parents recommendation. If someone recommended a private kg, I would be more than happy to consider it.

My kids go to St Georges in Duisburg. It's a bit of a drive and not the cheapest alternative, but they're happy and I'm happy.

Does anybody know if there are public, German kindergartens who deal regularly with non-German speaking kids, and so the teachers are trained or at least familiar with "German as a second language" pedagogy? We will be moving to Wuppertal with 2 children (4 yrs and 18 months) in September.
Thanks-
