I would agree that the Scoville scale would be an excellent starting point, but we need a curry version, perhaps referencing actual names of chillies. For example the
Naga Jolokia or Ghost Chili from the Assam region of india comes in at slightly over 1M Scovilles or 800K Scovilles depending on who measured it. Interstingly enough one of the measures (the lower one) comes from the Indian Defence Research Institute.
