my husband has been in the hospital for a couple of weeks --this follows having been Krankgeschrieben for more than 6 weeks. everything has been sorted out with the krankengeld. my question is, do i need to send weekly updates to his employer from the hospital? i sent the first letter from the hospital the day after he was rushed to the emergency room. the nurse from his ward tells me that he only needs to send in a second letter after he comes out of the hospital.

i thought i would write a short email to his employer (he works for a small company) saying that he is still in the hospital and the doctor hopes he can return to work in 3 or 4 weeks. what do you think? or is this something that could come back to haunt me if we end up having to sue the company if they try to fire him.
